Thanks 74ralley
I really like that purple and black.Got me to thinking about when I did those seats and how much my finger tips hurt from pulling the vinyl tight.
Heres a pic of the seats and actually the door panels also that I used in my car.
Hey Mike from Legendary any good deals on some seat covers for my 68 Dart GTS?
Doug

Proves that letting them sit does a car no good, parked under an apple tree in a field in 1974 till I pulled it out in 2008.I got a lot of nice trim for my 69 from it.

Great DIY project, hopefully the front seats come out just as nice as the rear.
I guess the price tag to have seats recovered has gone up.  Back in 1996, I paid $450 to have the both front seats and rear seat recovered.
Vinyl sides with clothe inserts, did not replace the sponge.

O’well, back to work.  I straightened out the staples, now time to glue them back together.
I really don’t like the budget cuts placed upon the military.

To me, the bench seat was easy/simple.   The front seats are a WHOLE dif story.   Its easy to tear the covers while trying to get the right tension/moulding.

If you are somewhat new to upholstery, do the rear bench, but leave the fronts to a pro

This is a timely thread for me.  The passenger seat of my '70 Challenger vert developed a tear, and the center of the drivers seat had been redone by an upholstery shop before I got the car with material that didn't quite match.  So I just ordered some Legendary covers to redo the seats through Dantes.
I did my T/A's front seats about ten years ago with a Legendary kit, and it was a tricky job as I recall.  Not necessarily hard, but took around 8 hours per seat to do. I think I broke 3 Craftsman wire cutters cutting hog rings!
Sure looked good after they were done. I wish I could finish the car so I can someday install my perfect looking front seats in it!
I spent a bunch of time yesterday digging through my old Mopar mags looking for an article I recall using when I did those T/A seats.  I couldn't find it.  It seems to me there is a trick, when doing the base of a Challenger front bucket, you need to start the cover around the rear of the seat and do the front second, if you do it the other way around you might tear the cover.  Or maybe I have that backward???  At any rate, that is why I really wanted to find that article, because it had the caution about the right way to install the cover on the bottom part of the seat, but I can't find it.
Any update on the Youtube video?  I checked youtube but only found a ton of videos on doing upholstery on new Challengers not 1970's. :dunno:

Since Mike with Legendary is viewing this thread, I thought I would chim in to say I love the quality of the Legendary seat covers which I had a pro install.  My only issue with my 70 Challenger is that the material pattern on the rear seat back is close, but does not perfectly align with the rear seat, but more importently nor does it align with the center point of the driveshaft hump.  Shouldn't the center point of the seat pattern align with the center point of the car (or am I confused)?

Update:
Received response from Ron with Legendary who noted that the driveshaft hump is not centered in the car!  I did not realize this before, but he is correct in that it is roughly 2" to the right which is why the rear seat pattern does not align with the hump. Learn something new very day.  Thanks Ron & Mike.
