Hi again...

You said that the car have torque boxes. Would you say they are original Chrysler boxes?   I just talk to a friend of mine and he told me that his 70 440-4 'Cuda has those boxes and I' m 99% sgure thet=y were not in place on a 340 or 383 car. You also said that the car has A/C parts, which were not available on six pacs or Hemis. My conclusion is that this car is an original 440 R/T car. And you said that it' s not an SE model, and I assume it's a hardtop. So your VIN should read as follow:  JS23U0B265408   Robert

The boxes look original to me. They have the same surface rust/dirt as the rest of the bottom. The dash got tossed when his wife decided to do a little cleaning up around the house and thought the cracked, faded thing in the corner was junk. I haven't talked to him in a week or so, but the last time I did he said he was going through all his parts boxes to see if he can find anything.
He thinks he remembers seeing fender tags in the past, but he doesn't know if they were for his car, or just a set that somebody showed him.

Probably he didn't talk to his wife for a week or so as well!   :roflsmiley:

:iagree: I came to the same conclusion.  I would ask Barry about it.
ONCE THE TAG IS GONE HE NEEDS A STATE ISSUED VIN
That depends on the state.  Also he is not in the U.S.

There are ways to find the actual VIN.  One is through insurance records.  It is a long complicated task.  I am not sure, but I believe Barry Washington might be able to tell you where to start.
