My '71 R/T is finally going into the shop. She became mine in 2006 and from what I can understand I may be only the third owner. The previous owner, crazy ex-girlfriends father, will not give me any more information. He purchased in 1985 for his son to go through high school, the car stayed with the dad. And stories that he use to tell he bought it from a guy who bought it new in 1971.
Now the B.S. part. NO FENDER TAG OR BRODCAST SHEET!!!!
These were stupidly removed suposedly by the original owner. The owner that the crazy ex girlfriends father will not provde information on...
So I can not at this point really start the restoration back to factory which is what I want. If I cant I may go resto mod daily cruiserish. I am not paying GTS Govier to come to my shop and for $1,500 - $2,000 say he cant make me a fender tag, thats insane! what a croc.
Anywho, I may be able to track down original dealership and reverse trace ownership and possibly locate my tag. Possibly... loooongshoooooot but hey it might work.
Car is a 383, original motor is gone, now has a 1969 440HP, It is a Hamtramck JS23. From what other members have said the tan interior is from a '70 car. This is my first restoration and muscle project so wish me luck advice and here are some pics.
