I have no idea what this one does! This car has so many interesting things, I think I should make a plan in which order I fix what and in which order I find out what does what. :chatting:

As fun as the bacon is, I would like to see more pics of actual 8 track factory set ups.

I have never had my hands on the special trim piece under the 8 track.

That being said, I would like one.

Here is a picture of one I sold a few years back. You can see a groove in the bezel. meaning the bezel was from a 71.

Hey Mike,

If you are talking about the groove under the 8-track cassette hole, they all have that, see how yours has the sharp edges that meet up with the dash ? If the groove was there instead of the sharp point it would make it a 70-74 Barracuda or 71-74 Challenger, but in fact your one is a 1970 Challenger only 8-track bezel buddy :2thumbs:

Found this while browsing, it's only at 99$ for now, 2 days left:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1974-Mopar-Cuda-Challenger-8-Eight-Track-Thumbwheel-AM-Radio-/260914168071?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AChallenger&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cbfb24107

Is this the real deal? It is missing those protrusions at both sides on the bottom metal front. Also the VOL/BAL/TONE/SEL lettering is missing. I found an identification page with some details here:
http://www.wardsclassiccarradiorepair.com/id15.html

@MEK, you sure yours was a Challenger Bezel? On the site linked above they claim that the ridge around the character line is typical for Cudas? :dunno:

See how this Blue dash bezel has a sharp edge to it where it meets the dash, this is 1970 Challenger only 8-track part. :2thumbs:

Note that it has the groove under the opening  But like Mike said, it should have a hole to the left with a selector rod coming out of the bezel.

See this Black 8-track has a similar groove under the opening also, but it also has the groove running around the edge, this is a 1970-71 Barracuda and 1971 Challenger 8-track part :2thumbs: and this one has the correct hole for the selector in it also.

Thanks Kenny.  I have not had one of those.
Looks like I need one for some strange reason.
