Steering Wheels
« on: December 13, 2011 - 03:47:24 PM »
After maket ones.
From what I can tell, you get rid of the 'crush can' then use an adapter made for that wheel. Just seems to me that the wheel would be too close to the instrument cluster?
Thinking of an NRG wheel.

Here's a couple adapters

Anybody with new steering wheels installed. How did it work out for you? Fab your own spacers?

When I used a Grant Challenger wheel, I used the spacer used on the Tuff wheel and from Dodge trucks to space it out. Without a spacer your fingers end up about 1/2" away from the dash at the top. With my tilt column conversions, I use the 3 inch spacer with the waffle type rubber cover over it.

Is the 3" spacer a Chrysler piece or aftermarket?

My spacer is likr the one above.   There are billet ones but this one was only $20 and looks like a mini crush can.

Grant has a wheel very similar to the tuff wheel , we just drilled the wheel for the horn & bolted it onto the crush can
