Brad!   :2cents:
That is called CUSTOMS FEE's not brokerage fee's.
Maybe customs passes the buck to place the blame on the delivery co.
Every country has customs. Don't blame UPS.
UPS has nothing to do with it.

When my wife sells something on ebay to a buyer in Canada we
send it as a gift to the buyer,  they do not pay for the value of the merchandise. That gets u around the Customs Fee.
I retired from UPS 13 yrs. They have there faults.

No customs is a separate deal, I just got a set on Con rods from Muscle motors under warantee , no charge. UPS still nailed me $54 and change and called it a brokerage fee, the customs declaration said no duty or taxes. When I get something from the USA via the post office they don't have this extra brokerage fee, just the regular taxes and duties.

That sucks!  :stomp:  I think their founding owners name was Ben Dover!  :grinyes:

Don't mess with Ben Dover!  I heard he has good lawyers!  Dewey, Cheatum & Howe!  :smilielol:

I dunno, I've had issues with UPS as well.  Not so much about fees, but the way packages end up looking when they get to my doorstep, a stolen package by a temperary person hired by UPS....

The 'brokerage' fees that UPS charges are not customs fees. Actually, we don't have customs duties with the USA anymore - free trade - just sales tax. But UPS charges an exorbitant amount for filling out the import forms for a third party on top of the sales tax. Neither government sees a cent of the brokerage fees.

If the product is made in the US, automobile partswise, there is no duty. BUT, there ARE brokerage fees that UPS will pay and pass on to you AND the cost of the brokerage fees, plus the shipping costs, will be added to the value of whatever you bought and you'll get dinged the 13% HST in Ontario, on the whole kaboodle. Boydsdodge has got it figured out. Get an address in the Falls and go get it yourself. Believe me, the gas is cheaper and the wings and pizza are also still good.
