Hemi motor located
« on: December 15, 2011 - 05:01:58 PM »
I am the scout master for our local boyscout troop. i went out to a property to scope the job for the scouts to do to earn money for camp. AND THEN IT HAPPENED.  the old guy said, there is an old car back there. of course i said really, he said its an old dodge. the car is rusted really really bad. so bad the frame of the car is gone and the lower parts of the body. BUT it has a motor in it. its a 50s model 2 door wagon Dodge. and the motor is a Hemi. i dont know which one yet. but i have persmission to remove the car from the property. will get back later with more info and pics. i will want help pricing this motor and possibly selling to you good people.

BTW i have miss yall too for those who remember me, april i still think your tops, is she still on this site. and my cuda got stolen and never recovered.

Hey Burpin'

Haven't heard from you in ages!! Sounds like it might be an old 331 FirePower?? Nice find!! And very cool you're helping kids with boy scouts. I did it from cub scouts (my mother was the den mother) all the way thru boy scouts to being an assistant scout master. I loved it and still ove camping, hunting and killing Bambi!! So let us know what you find and welcome back!!

i need a cuda in my life. after mine with bye-bye i got an old 71 truck, its nice with factory air but it sure aint no cuda.

and i see april is a moderator here.

i will have the motor next tuesday, will let you know then if it turns over.

Burpy - is it really you? Good to hear you are still kicking. You will have to fill us in on the details of the Cuda. That would be an easy car to spot.

Still got that burnout video hosted somewhere? It was classic.

Hi Burpin,

Wow what a surprise to see you here again. Sorry to hear about your Cuda getting ripped off.
That's a serious bummer.

We've had a few of the old gang checking in here again lately.
Hope to hear more of you and good luck on another Cuda find.
Mike, Fremont, CA.

Sad to here about your cuda!! Too bad we all could'nt scrounge enough parts and a project to get you back into the drivers seat of a cuda. Sad to here it when some piece of steamin protien steals someones's pride and joy!! Love the 50's cars especially the big wingers.

readers digest of the cuda - car was at buddies shop. we worked on the cars there and other things. buddy dies. wife puts a lein on the car, even though i didnt owe money on it. lawyer says in texas i dont have a chance. she took my tools extra motors everything.

and yes it hurts, still today. the cuda was a big part of me always will be. i look at cudas today but with the economy the way it is, i just cant swing getting one. and i dont have the energy to redo another one.

but who knows what tomorrow will bring, i should change my name to cudaless.

Neither one of them is a big buck item, but the 331 was considered to have the best heads of all the smaller (less than 392) engines. I've looked at a few of the old ones and the common thread seems to be cracked blocks due to no antifreeze and/or being left open/outside too long. You'll probably have a nice start to the next Scout scrap drive, but you never know! Good luck.

Hi Burpin!  nice to see you around again.

Sorry to hear about you Cuda.  :walkaway: I wish she would do the right thing and let you get your car back.

As for value, the last 331 I sold, three years ago, I got $800 for it, and it was rebuilt and good shape.  The 331 and 241 don't bring in the bid $$$ as the 351 and 392 do.

I got the 1970 Cuda, but still need the hot blonde to ride shotgun!

this is the same lady - that when i located that old vette with the big block and 4 speed for 800 bucks, let them take for 800 bucks. or was 2800. my memory is gone this days. either way it was a great deal, and she wanted it. so i let it be. i guess she got both cars.

by now the car is gone - this happened back in 08. it took me a couple of years to let it go. so i am at peace. i still look at the burnout video ever so often. its still near the top of youtube when you put in

reverse cuda burnout

I think you are referring to the 341 DeSoto Hemi, or maybe the 354 Chrysler instead of a "Ford" Hemi.

Hope you stick around - and I think would be great if you could go back to your traditional posting in the third person. I have never seen anyone else do that and never, no not once, break out of character.
