update
installed the new fuel lines today,,AN lines r the only way to go,,nice and clean, tight, looks good, very little force to tighten,AND best of all no leaks, plus, they make each carb independant,no hard lines, much better for longevity, after taking all day to install,, hit the fuel pump and not one bit of fuel leakage anywhere,,the adapter fittings at the carb uses 1 rubber coated slim crush washer only unlike the banjo's that uses thick alum crushers that take exceptional force to seal..no good..not exactly the way walter p chrysler did it with the 6 packs but the direct connection carbs were over the counter upgrades anyway,i can blip the throttle like a small block now and boy does it want to wind!crisp would best describt the throttle response, not mushy like stock.. the bracket that the fuel log is bolted to is my former coil bracket cut down to accomadate the log,,i believe this set up equals the air flow of a dominator carb,,hhhmmmm,,six pack dominator!!!???i'll have some of that..
its easyer to tune also without idle circuits on the outboards,,just idle screws, and jet plates, and squirters, and accelerator pumps, helps when tuning in gear with larger cams like my 555 solid lifter with low idle vacuum.
that pump in the place of the battery is a vacuum pump for the power brakes,,from sbbc brake systems..app they r in all new cars and trucks,,pretty main stream now,,batterys in the trunk..wiil not mod the car sheet metal wise,,no pro street here but just some good common sense mods,,tony

had to fab a new aluminum clearance patch today for the new set up,1 new hole for an xtra rivet,,its running really good,im happy with the conversion, when rebuilding the 40 year old carbs i was wondering what the heck i was getting myself into.i wish i knew about these a long time ago.theres alot of potenial here.runs like any other 4 barrel carb.except with 1355 cfm..doesn't like to idle buy itself until heat starts to generate in the intake, std old school warm up,when pumping the throttle on a cold start i open the throttle on the progressive linkage just past where i can feel the secondarys open and shoot some gas 1 time and it fires right away,,i can see where with a setup like this it could flood really easy,,just like any double pumper..idles around 1300-1400,,drops to 900 in gear,,i think the car is ready for final assembly now,,hood and some misc,,road test time!

Awesome .glad you are happy with the conversion
thanks
but, just to clarify,,this car is an original barracuda, not a cuda so the mods i have made r on repo parts(base plate)..if it was an original v-code i would still do it just with the same repo parts and the originals up in the rafters of my shop..

As I said I have the same system on my Chall , it is not a V code either !!
I prefer resto mod , make it perform to its potential !!

so do i,,makes it perform much better and has a wide appeal providing u dont go too crazy,i originally went the all stock route, rallyes, valve covers, exhaust, like so many others i think based  upon what the cars were going for,but then i decided to keep it and wanted to personalize it.5 spoke E.T's,valvecovers, headers, battery in trunk, electric fuel pump, etc,no sheet metal mods except for frame connectors.everything works as stock including the n.o.s. clock and all rallye gauges.and the heater will cook u if u turn it up..you wont get a ride like this at disney world.

Awesome job!  I'm starting to think 500-550 HP should be my goal instead of the magazine numbers I've been trying to match.  Reading your reaction to having yours on the road reminds me how much fun the Roadrunner was with 'only a 383 with a six pack on it.  At the very least with way better heads than I ran back then and 50-100 or so more cubes its going to be a blast!  Congrats getting yours going and thanks for the inspiration.

thanks,,my heads r from hughes performance,,at the time of engine build they were selling 906 units with 2.14 and 1.81 valves installed and ported under the valve seat to take advantage of the larger valves with springs good up to .600 lift for 700.00 delivered..but after reading the latest mopar magazine engine shootout,,i like the 440 running 906 units making 730 HP!!of course i cant use all the power im pushing now on the street but like the new 2013 mustang coming out with 650 HP,,bragging rights!!

I have a mechanical 6-pack set up in a box in the garage.  They need a rebuild, but have a linkage and a fuel rail.  Are they worth something?  I decided to put stock vacuum secondaries 6-pack on my stroker big block because the consensus says that they make for a better street cars set up.  I am hoping to get my engine finished and dynoed yet this weekend with the carbs set up using a jet plate instead of metering plates.  Now, after reading all this, I wonder if I should have just had my mechanical carbs rebuilt at holley?

well you still own the carbs & it is not all that hard to switch so I would try them both ways & see what you prefer . I stumbled across the set I have on my car , no one wanted tham as they wee not original but I far prefer the ability to chose when & how much I can open the throttle .

r they worth something??u bet..if it didn't come from the factory with a 6 pack then they r the way to go..they were down played by chrysler back in the day because they decided to push the vacuum setup instead after contracting with holley for the ford/mech type carbs,,its the same on the street becuase u r still running on the center carb only at partial throttle.they BOTH open when u mash the peddle,,only diff is 1 opens when enough air velocity passes thru the venturies,,3000+ rpm's,, and the other when it hits the progressive linkage stop..no bog/transition off the line/low rpm use, like all carbs when they r set up right, pump cam, squirters, jets, misc adj.which holley wont do..,becuase these have acc pumps..vacuum stockers do not..put mech linkage on stock carbs and they will bog big time,,
to install its pretty straight forward except for the fuel lines,,if u r using stock fuel lines it will be a problem,,.and possible air cleaner clearance..driver side inlet..see pics..i think im starting to sound like i have a pallet of them for sale in the back yard..lol.want to move them..P.M. me.

amen to that!!i think its much safer also using the mech setup versus the vacuum because when u hit a certain rpm they will open whether u want them to or not..my old set would open around 3100 rpm's and the back end would start swaying like i suddenly hit water on the road. much better to dial your fun..

I think I will follow Chryco's suggestion.  I will keep them around, and then try to set them up after I get my car finished and have some time and money to deal with it.  For now, I am going with a stock carb setup and try to tune them this week on the dyno.  I have a lot of projects going on at once and I will wait for more money before I try to set up the mechanical ones.  But, I won't sell them right now.  BTW, my set up has an aluminum fuel rail that connects to the fuel inlets, and to a hard line at the back of the motor.  It may be easier than piecing together multiple lines.  I will check it in the future.  Thanks for the advices.    J
