New Carb, Which One.
« on: December 31, 2011 - 08:03:49 AM »
Hey guys,

I looking for a new carb for my rebuild.  It's a mildly built 340 going in my 71 Challenger.

First question:  I'm using a Edelbrock LD340.  Mainly for height so the shaker hood will be the correct height plus it's a good overall manifold.  The LD340 is a square bore manifold correct?I'm thinking of going with a Holley 650 Double Pumper.  I'm not the best at tuning and I've had good success with the 2 Holley Double Pumpers's that I've bought new in the past. I installed them and they worked well with minimal tuning.

Any suggestions on carb selection that you can give me would be great.  I'm not married to the Holley if you have a better idea based on my criteria please let me know.  Thanks I appreciate your advise.

Dave

I would use a Proform instead , basically the Holley design but improved , Mancini has a better price than Summit on the Proform carbs .
