Tips and Tricks for polishing / buffing Stainless Trim

Cody .... thanks for taking the time to chat on Saturday.   I really appreciate your feedback, experience and product knowledge.   I will persue slowly and plan to finish using the Zainos to protect and bring out the best in the paint.
I spent some time after we talked and can't believe I hadn't tripped over this product prior.   Wow ....

Used on my AAR.

With a buffer use the rubbing compound until orange peel and most scratches
are gone.
Use the Finesse-it to bring out the shine.

Cody I thought I knew lots about buffing stainless but I learned a few more tricks here. I need to buff the stainless on my Challenger that just got painted so I'll be using what I learned here when I do it. Thanks!

BLACK MAGIC Wet Shine.  If old polish and road tar, grime. Clay Bar 1st.
Do about a 2 X 2 ft square.
If hand application don't let the Black Mag dry. Start buffing immedialely when finished
applying.

Hey AARuFAST ..... I got the 3M product for compounding.   Found it in Canada at CarQuest.

Thanks again .... now need to acquire the three different buffing pads.

So what do we need to do different, or be careful of when working with aluminum trim? I have plenty of dented aluminum on mine.

Awesome videos!!!  Learned so much!!  One tip, my dad having a wood shop, I made several wooden tools and used a rubbing motion on the dents to help smooth them out. Some dents were a little tougher so I made special tools to lightly ping them out with the trim always flat.

I first tried polishing my trim....the stuff at the base of my vinyl roof..... and thought I really goofed it up...to the point where I had grooves in a small part of it.....obviously using the wheel wrong, I went to the interweb and I stumbled on that first video and gave it a shot.  Started with 220 paper and worked my way up.  Couldnt find the 800+ paper in stick on for my DA so did it all by hand.

My shoulder is sore now, but I think it turned out great!  My son helped me on the long piece. 

It really is like magic to see hazy, scrubby looking trim turned into chrome like beauty with just some elbow grease!  The video was AWESOME and well done, and it motivated me to try it!

Just finished all three videos. Outstanding information. I've done some stainless work and got nice results but with some of the tips you gave me, I am convinced I can get show quality results now. I am playing with a convertible right now which has tons of stainless and every bit of it is dented up. Can hardly wait to do some of it. I like your shop by the way!
