Here is a more detailed breakdown on the two incredible Mopar stops on Day Four going from Champaign to Gateway Int. Raceway.

We start off at Mary-Ann's Diner, 1510 S Neil St, Champaign, IL 61820.  We will leave the diner at 7:30.  Get to the diner at whatever time you feel comfortable as to leave by 7:30.  It should take us about 2 hours to get to Mid-America.

After you check in at Mid-America, DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!  Head right around the corner, it is the first Mopar stop at the Flatland Motor Club (All Mopar Guys) 804 East Rickleman Ave, Effingham, IL 62401.  There will be a bunch of Mopars there including the tribute 64 Petty Race car with real Petty Hemi engine, recently seen in Mopar Collectors Guide.  Also there will be shop tours, running Hemi's on stands and much more.  Do not follow your GPS, it will take you to the wrong place.  There is a map attached to this email to follow.

THERE IS FREE FOOD at the Flatland Motor Club , so DO NOT EAT at Mid-America.

We will be leaving there at 12:00 to head over to Performance Plus, 1511 U.S. Hwy 50 west, Odin,IL 62870.  A Mopar restoration shop.  They will have a group of awe inspiring Mopars, including the famous 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible tribute that has won numerous awards, been to SEMA, MCACN, and even appeared on SpikeTV's Power Block with Courtney Hansen.

We will leave Performance Plus at 2:30 to get to Gateway Int. Raceway with time to check in and go through the show.  We want to try to get a good line of Mopars coming into Gateway and get video of us rolling in together for MoprTV.

Afterwards some of us will be heading to, Pappy's Smokehouse, 3106 Olive St. St Louis, MO 63103.  It sounds like a interesting place and the reviews for it are good.  This is just a suggestion and by no means a requirement.

When is everyone at the start point of the GM proving grounds in Milford?  Are you going into Detroit and then backtracking to Muskegon?   :clueless:   If you start at the proving grounds and not go to Detroit  . . . you could go just about right by my house!!   :2thumbs:

Wow, can you believe that is two weeks til we will be in Detroit!

Mopar Collectors Guide put the word out about the Tour.  So we had a good jump in participation.  This is the largest MoPowered Tour to date!

Ryan Brutt with the Blue 09 Challenger R/T Classic will be getting into Detroit on Friday.  Keep an eye out for it and the large goliath in the brown fedora hat.

We have decided to stick with the original Bad Brad's BBQ in Stillwater.  Heard good things about it.  Also we have a participant that actually works for Kicker who is going to see us there.

Dave Ferro and the Totally Auto crew is going to be joining in probably in Champaign.  His daughter is graduating.  If there is any reason to miss the MoPowered Tour, can't get much better then that.  Congratulations to her and the family!  Www.totallyautoinc.com

We just downloaded a new texting program called “GroupMe”.  We are working on how this works to mass text everyone.  Currently we will only be texting in case of emergencies.  But that might change.

Also we will have a 2-way radio in the lead vehicle if you want to have one.

Here is the breakdown again of the whole weeks activities.

Ryan,

I will most likely join you on the first day, if not for hte second day too, depending on the sanctity of my 73, if not something else..
Dinner at the Woodshop is going to be off the charts! Beware, Clarkston police are sticklers.
I might suggest a few places for breakfast on the morning.
Original pancake house on Woodward Ave is great, but lines form rather quickly. It's not for a HUGE group of people, but for a nice small gathering.
Otherwise Toast in Birmingham is pretty great. I think they may be able to accommodate a few more people, larger tables specifically.
If I know now, I can book it for us. Please let me know.
I do not know when Vinsetta Garage is opening up for business. I'll check. It's owned and operated by the same people who operate the Woodshop.
Hint: It's a famous antique service station converted to a dining facility.

What, no stops at the Walter P Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills?? tsk tsk...
that would be a great shot, all the HRPT cars in front of the museum.
I'll message you my number.Would love to catch up.

BTW: Do I need to register?
best,

Dan Zimmermann

The original Route 66 remains open between Miami & Vinita (Oklahoma) on the way to Stillwater.  For those that want to, this is a great chance to drive down one of the few remaining sections of US 66 rather than taking I-44.

Scott,
It's a rl gamble if my car will be ready. It's still all apart.
It's a slight chance at best, but then again, there's always a possibility. 😜

Dan,

Yes please register.

As of right now we have no official MoPowered Tour happenings going on Friday.  We tried to work out some stuff with the Chrysler Museum, but all they gave us was the 2 for 1 coupons.  They are getting ready for their own stuff I guess.

Friday Dinner @ the Woodshop is just for fun.  I will send an email blast seeing how many might be there on Friday.  Also if we go early enough to eat, I was planning on doing the Mt. Clemens Cruise afterwards.

For Saturday, I will atleast try to setup a time to be at the WPC museum.

AND we will see what we can hit on the way to Stillwater.  Sounds cool.

If you feel the breakfast spot is better then the one chosen for Detroit, then I can get it changed no problem.

On Sunday we don't have any stops planned.  Just leave at a normal time and cruise.  The after tour stop @ the Silversides I will make optional.  I think it is cool.  The Silversides closes at 5.  So I will post both for people.

For the most part.  There are a few days where we will veer off.  I plan on going through it this weekend and doing the modifications.

Well here we are ladies and gentlemen. One week til the MoPowered Tour.

A few updates....

I am having a lot of people interested in the dinner on Friday. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING. I need to talk to the people there and let them know. We are planning on hitting up the Union Wood Shop around 3pm that way we can do the cruise in Mt. Clemens.

We're still working out the “GroupMe” program.

The official driving directions are posted, as well as the breakdown on daily events with Hot Rod. I will be going over the directions this weekend and making “adjustments” for the MoPowered Tour. So expect a few more emails over the coming week.
