That new Chargerless sure does SUCK ! ! They should have parked it beside that beautiful 68 and had a sign asking , "See any similarities?".

WSM- The answer is, "NO". What do I win? ;D

Okay, the 300 vert has too thick of a bodyline, same with the Charger. The Firepower looks nice, but I'm sure that it will be marketed to the same clientele that the Viper and Vette are.

A Daytona Truck?!?!?

5.7L- Not a "true" hemi, therefore the new Charger, by their sign, is not a real muscle car.

All this is what happens when the ad agency and corporate bigwigs, not the enthusiast, runs the company.

The new "charger" is not even close

The vert 300 doesn't look too bad

I need to see more pics of that Firepower.. It has a Virage look about it, something Jmes Bond would
drive ;)

That billboard is a joke.

A four door sedan with the statement " real muscle cars have a hemi."

No -- real muscle cars are fast and look cool.   It doesn't.  :ack:

68, hands down.  The Vert 300C is prety cool, too.  A 4 door vert, those are cool.  The rear doors should be suicide, though.

5.7L- Not a "true" hemi, therefore the new Charger, by their sign, is not a real muscle car.

How do you figure, do you know what a hemi is ?   hemi is an abreviation for hemisperical combustion chamber, and a chrysler trademark.   that means the spark plug is at the top of a dome. or in the 5.7 case two are at the top of the dome.          That would make  it a hemi, im not debating the muscle car thing.  I feel that the muscle car is a strait line, poor stopper, with good power , lots of noise and made in the 60's and 70's these are just new cars with more power and current technology.    I like them.  but there not Muscle cars, and muscle cars are cheap.  these arnt.  the new muscle car is a srt4/ss cobalt more so than a charger/gto/zo6.      :burnout: :driving:          The 5.7 is made in mexico and toyota's are made in the US  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I am well aware of what the term "Hemi" refers to. However, if you look at the cross-section of a cylinder head on the new hemi, versus the head on the old hemi, you cannot truly say that this new motor is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the mystique of the hemi name. Real hemi's had hemispherical heads. This new motor only has the slightest of curvatures to the head.

FWIW, the 68 Charger has a 5.7l hemi with I believe a 5spd, the wheels are 20"ers too. There is a write up on it in Muscle Car Enthusiast.
