So the fusible link . . . how do you know if it's bad?   :clueless:

If the outer covering/insulation of the fuse link is rough/bumpy it is likely burned open. But the only way to really know is to use an ohmeter. If your fuse link is burned open 4C, you will have no power whatsoever inside the car (if stock wiring). Is anything working electrically? IE will the starter engage from ign sw?

Yes there are things working so I guess I will rule that out.  Need to get out the meter and start to track these issues down.  Not working is the wipers, lighter and map light . .  at least that I know of at this moment.   :dunno:

Ok update:  So I found a test light in my toolbox and started poking around.  CP what you said was true of course . . . The blue wire has power when off and as you flip the switch, the power moves around in the plug.  This tells me that I need to source a new wiper motor. How do you tell a variable speed motor from a 3 speed?

Next I started poking around under the dash and no power to the cig lighter or the map light.  So I go to the fuse box and I have power at every fuse but #5 . . . . No power there at all?  What does this mean?   Wire come lose?   Box is bad?   Thanks for all the help everyone.

Kim @ Passion for Mopars is the person to contact about the Wiper Motor
fuse 5 is fed power from the light switch so either the switch is bad , possibly the dimmer switch , never hear of a problem with the contacts there LOL or a contact in the switch itself

No 12vdc on either side of the fuse? If not, I agree with CP, dimmer sw. The power for Fuse 5 comes from the dimmer via the light sw. The tan coloured wire.

I never realized it either until I was tracing out the print yesterday. Fuse one is another fuse that is fed from a switch. It gets it's power from the ign sw in the run position.

Ok let's talk about this some more.  So I got the dimmer switch and installed it  . . now I get power at fuse 5 only while the light switch is on and I assume that is correct.  I still have no power to the cig lighter and map light and maybe more?  I traced the diagram above and it appears that the lighter and the clock have a continuous feed from the battery . . is that correct?

So if they are always hot . . what would be the reason I have no power there?  Is there a fuse somewhere that could be blown that is just for those?
