Sadly, Chrysler has always been known to prematurely eject a great car....  I feel they would be foolish to drop the Challenger now.

As far as the Cuda... they have never brought back a car from a dead line.  Plymouth is dead (sadly), and I would be shocked to see it go around.

I suppose they could bring back the AMX as well.  …. Well, as Jeep was AMC,  I think they have a better hook there - The Jeep AMX
65 Satellite     361 Ruby Red Poly
72 Challenger    360 Top Banana
73 Challenger    340 Triple Black
87 Dodge Ram     318 Blue
88 Dodge Ram     360 Grey (+)
04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L Pewter Met.

I would think it would be one or the other. They made that mistake in the 70's with the Challengers and Cudas competing with each other as well as the A Body line. I agree with the above post I don't see the Cuda coming back as long as Plymouth is dead.

Maybe this is a question for a different thread or already brought up but.....are AMC cars Mopars? I saw an interesting thread on another board about it.

I believe AMC falls under the Mopar brand, or at least they are included as part of our annual Mopar Mini Nats here in Dallas.  I know I have always thought of them as something like Mopar's little brother.

Beginning in 1980, AMC partnered with France's Renault in an effort to keep their expensive manufacturing operations open, obtain much-needed capital, and as a source for vehicles in the increasingly popular subcompact category. After 1983, Renault purchased a majority controlling interest in AMC, and ended production of all AMC cars (except for the Eagle), focusing entirely on promoting the Alliance, a Renault-based subcompact. In spite of further new vehicle development, including the Medallion and an early, Teague designed version of the Premier, Renault sold AMC to Chrysler in 1987. Both AMC and Renault brands ceased in the U.S. The Jeep/Eagle division of Chrysler Corporation was formed after Chrysler's 1987 buyout, with Jeep and Eagle models (the Medallion and the redesigned Premier) marketed primarily by former AMC dealers.

??? Does that make the 70 AMC Javalin a Mopar????

Cut and paste from Wiki:

In April 1987, in an acquisition spearheaded by Chrysler chairman Lee Iacocca, the American company took control of the Italian automaker (Lamborghini), after paying out US$33 millio to the Mimrans. According to Jolliffe, the Mimran brothers were the only owners of Lamborghini to ever make money out of the company, having sold it for many times the dollar amount they paid for it six years earlier.

I guess that makes Lamborghini a Mopar too!

I Like the look of the new chally for the most part and would be proud to own one, just could not justify or sneak a 40 thousand dollars auto purchase past the wifes NO!! At least with my Barracuda it can sneak 40 thousand over a 6 yrs period.

I remember some of the old Chrysler adds from the late 80s/early 90s when they had the whole lineup of Chrysler cars and minivan, then a Lamborghini right in line with them all.

I guess it's all how you look at it, Chrysler bought Dodge and we know they Mopars. If they would have kept making them I guess AMCs would have been......   :clueless:

I can see it now...The Lambo 'Cuda. Just use the old tooling dies and stamp out new Lambo's and call them "Cudas. It's gonna be tough fitting 4 gills on the front fender to make it a 1971 retro model, though. Not much room there. I actually saw a Contach parked outside a dollar cinema back in the late '80s when I lived in Houston. It was the real deal and not a promo stunt. It drew quite a crowd. I figured I didn't have to worry about anyone stealing my GN with that thing out front! lol.
