Canadian newbie with 'rare' 73 Challenger options...
« on: January 11, 2012 - 07:21:34 PM »
Hi guys!  I just bought a 73 Challenger.  My first Mopar and I love it already :)

It has some neat options, like 'Canadian' option (C) (well not so neat), disc brakes, AM/FM Radio and MONACO 500 Ornamentation package.  That's why I mainly signed up, what is that?

I will be making a thread and posting the fender tag, but in the meantime, thank you for having me!!

As bought...

Ham incorrectly named bacon, a love of hockey, special dual call outs that read: "Challenger/Challengeur" and "Four Barrel/Quatre Tonneau" ?

Welcome from Ontario.  Our Barracuda has the C option, it just means it was built for sale in Canada.  I'm sure there are a lot less built for Canada than the US but I wouldn't call it rare.

Have fun with you Challenger,  we also have a 73 Challenger.

Welcome from Cambridge! There's a few more Canucks lurking here, but they're kinda shy. And Brad, that Quebec brekkie was with a "Hexport" not a Coke.

Work continues!  I wanted to repaint it but not bare metal, so I sanded down the clear to see how solid the base was.

Looks fine!  (Wetsanded 500 after clear removal).

I epoxied it and waiting for it to set a bit before high build and more sanding.  Whee!  :)  It's a little cool in our area so the polyurethanes take a little while longer.  But can't take TOO long otherwise the entire epoxy needs to be scuffed (not fun).  Just gotta time it right.
