My offer for Carlisle 2012.
« on: January 12, 2012 - 07:22:38 PM »
I'm just throwing this out there, since we are 6 months away.

IF we can settle on a club Hotel....Viperman did the lunch at the club tent Saturday last year. Well done I might add.   :2thumbs:

I will pay for the Friday night pizza party for the club this year.

We just need a time and place. I feel like I owe so many of you thanks for what I've been thru with my health problems. I can't thank you enough for your support, so I feel like it's time I gave forward, so to speak.    :2thumbs:

  Mike

We only need 1 or 2 pizza's, right???       :smilielol:

I think we are going to the same hotel as last year.

Can anyone post last year's hotel?

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I liked thje Courtyard but what's up with the Country Inn? Seems a bit cheaper and closer.
We actually got a free night last year. Seems the Courtyard overbooked for Friday night, so when we
finally got there, they offered to pay for our night at Hampton Inn across the expressway. Of
course we took it. It was nicer then the Courtyard by a long shot. Lots of parking and they set out clean towels
for people to wipe their cars down with. Then washed them for the next day.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

We stayed at the Country Inn, Parking was the worst part of the deal.
As we were not with truck, trailer, and car we made out just fine.

There is a small dining room that could easily be taken over for pizza, or the front canopy (check-in area)
awesome close to the fairgrounds, clean, pool was open late, rooms were great, ALL ENGLISH speaking.

I used a government discount, but the price was good before that.  I did not ask about group rates.
We tried to get into the Club's hotel but they had sold out.  I have a friend that works for this chain and had seen one of their hotels before....We were happy (we just drove to the club's hotel to hang and then back for the night)

Anyone local could run by and check it out, they would know what is needed for the group.

You the man, MEK.  I certainly enjoyed sitting and chatting with you last year, and was bummed that we didn't get more time to hang out.

I'm hoping to find a somewhat-fancier affair for Saturday Dinner at the show - last year we ended up having pizza two nights in a row, and I know not everyone was very excited for this fact.  If I can find something a tad more up-scale, then the Friday Pizza Party would reclaim some of it's appeal I'm sure!

By the way for the past few years, we've taken advantage of the Pizza Hut "Any pizza, any toppings for $10" deal - usually beats the daylights out of any other options, and keeps prices relatively low.  I'm just hoping to get more people under the same roof this year so that more folks can join us for dinner on Friday!

Don't feel like you have to seek out the $75 a plate joints ;)
