Thanks  guys!
Can anyone explain why there's a braket required for a power brake conversion?
My thinking was that on manual brakes , your pedal makes a mechanism push into the master cylinder.
Why isnt a power brake just the same but pushing into the booster??? :clueless:
What is the use of this braket.

BTW, took out the tranny today. Big winter projects on the way and learning tons!

I am not sure but that system is for a front disc / rear drum or all drum application only!!! Not a full disc system. Maybe that is why they had the bracket.

I have disks in front and dums on back.
My question wasn't clear. I'm not confused by the braket itself, but the "arm" or "lever" sticking out under it.
What is that for???

What's your reason for putting in an aftermarket set up?  I am pulling a perfect factory set up out of cudagys car, going to manual discs for him. I will be selling his power set up complete, once I get the firewall plate.   The swivel is a reducer, if it wasn't there, your brakes would apply so fast and hard, you would kiss the windshield.

If I understand what your asking.... In the stock set up.
That lever changes the pedal ratio. some call it a bell crank.I've been told this was done for 2 reasons. One being power brakes if the master/booster ran right off the pedal with no bell crank then the brakes would be too sensitive, second reason is for engine clearance of the booster( it needed to be higher to clear the valve cover) The power booster mounts higher than the manual brake set up. Therefore a different firewall support plate is required.
Hope that helped?
