I purchased the 70 Challenger on 11/13/2004 and over 7 years later, work has finally begun.
Originally a 318, 3-speed auto car, a previous owner dressed it cosmetically as a T/A with a bolt on hood scoop and body decals and trunk spoiler.
My Goal:
Engine: 3rd gen Hemi
Front suspension: Alterkation
Rear Suspension: RMS Street Lynx
Transmission: Undecided current thoughts 5-6 speed manual Keisler quoted over 6k for a complete auto to manual swap. I would Really like to gue a Nag-1 5-speed auto but I understand It's a PITA to get set up.
Interior: LX seats, custome dash, Speedline guages, custom console
Wheels:most likely 18-inch 5-spoke machined lip with silver paint
Paint:opinions welcomed here! Narrowed down to 2 colors first: Intense Blue code PB3
Second and the one I am leaning towards is Copperhead Metallic see this link:
http://staceydavid.com/projects/copperheadAlso powdercoat the underside, engine compartment and trunk same color
Body: Install R/T hood, T/A trunk spoiler with the center of the hood painted in a Silver as well as the T/A Spoiler in Silver with a Rumble Bee Stripe in Silver. The silver could either be light with the Blude paint or Dark with the CopperHead Met paint,
Would like to get someone to PhotoShop this Idea any Takers?I am anticipating this project will take 4-5 years.
This years Project: Stage 1: Stripping the car and Media blasting
Stage 2: Body work and chassis stiffening and primered
Here are some Pics:
Now I have to get rid of the parts I will not be reusing:
K-Member Assembly
RearEnd
Console
Engine
Transmission
Front Fenders (Fiberglass)
Flat Hood (w/bolt on T/A scoop)
other odds and ends
Any interest PM me, I really do not want to send the stuff to a scrapyard, but I have no room to store it.
