Wiper blades for 1974 E body help needed
« on: January 20, 2012 - 07:10:04 PM »
Went to the auto parts store I deal with and they could not come up with part numbers for wiper blades for a 74 E body. Hoping to find the original low profile design so they wont hit the hood. Would someone have a part number or show a place to purchase these? Thanks John.

Complete assembly: Trico Classic Wiper Blade 16" ( PN 33-162) - NAPA

Refills only: 16" Wiper blade refill (refill only) #60-1614 (NAPA)

You can also check Walmart, they sell Pylon brand which has the insert style blades. Just buy the whole thing and pull the insert out.

I have the NAPA ones on my car now.  Still need lots of rain-x as the blades love to chatter across the glass.  So clunky too.LOL

I have the Trico Classic's part #33-162 on my 70. They look just like the factory blade. Does the 74 use a different blade?

Clean the blades real well with rubbing alcohol. That usually stops the chatter.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I bought the new style blades for my car.  Very quiet and smooth wipe compared to the classic and original style.  I don't mind getting stuck in rain now.

Works for a while.  But in extended rain driving it comes back unfortunately.  The blades are old now but look and fit.LOL  Rain-x seems to last longer for me.  Probably same thing though.

500 stroker, did they clear the hood? Part numbers? Thanks, John.

Cleared the hood no problem.  When I get home tomorrow I'll look for a part number.  I think I have a spare set in the trunk.

TinCuda is right on. Trico Classic I have and they work smooth and perfect. Make sure you all keep your glass clean and the blades stay smooth with no chatter
