  • MOPAR OR NO CAR
B/J Auction
« on: January 22, 2012 - 11:17:08 AM »
Ok I just watched 5 hours of Saturday's Barrett Jackson auction and saw 2-- yep only 2  Mopars Muscle cars go through. The #1 General Lee and a 70 Hemi Road Runner. That was it. Did I miss them or were there no Mopars there ?

I recorded all the shows but one and I saw a roadrunner, a road runner superbird, a coronet, a 70 charger, the 69 charger from dukes, 4 71 cuda's, 2 AAr cudas, a 70 chally that we never got to see roll across the block, a 74 charger, the first hemi installed drag cuda, a new wd40 challenger designed by chip foose that was really sweeet!! There were a billion rustangs I dvr and skip all the rustangs.

Well i watched alot of the cars go across the block on the internet because then you dont miss any cars going across the block unlike the all the commercials that they play and i like the mecum show better more about the cars and the people and all then bj does about the hype.

Watching the BJ Auction on Speed is a waste of time given the number of untimely commercials.  A better bet was to stream it live off the internet at barrett-jackson.com

I didn't waste more then 20 minutes on that broadcast. For Mopar people it's a total waste of time. Just my .02!!

They spend most of their time concentrating on the Camaros and Vettes.  There was a few Mopars that were on the staging lanes that must have hit the auction block during commercial, or during the "extra credit" Barrett Jackson fluff.  :sly:

I watched it some, and saw several Mopars going through.. not  a lot though. I guess that means most of us are just happier with our cars and don't need to auction them. ;P

I catch a Meccum today (re-run) that saw a Superbird go for a nice high price.. damn i want one! :)

I actually went to the auction on on Thursday night.  There were a fair amount of mopars there really no more or less than there usually is.  The only mopar I did not see this year was a real hemi cuda.  There are usually one or two of those there, but besides that I saw the usual stuff.  The thing I did take note of was the amount of AAR cuda's there.  I stopped paying attention after the 5th one  :faint:
