To blast or not to blast, that is the question. (bushing shafts)

I'm working on replacing the rear springs.  I am reusing the shackles, and the lower spring plate with shock mount.

I will be grit blasting all the associated parts and repainting them.  My question is should I grit blast the shafts that the bushings pivot on, or will that tear them up?  The shackles exhibit a bit of surface corrosion, and a few pits but they're not bad.  I just don't want to create another problem if I could/should have masked them off.  The shock mount looks good, and I'll probably mask that.

I'll be adding some grease prior to assembly in any case.

I don`t see a problem in blasting those parts.  Rust is worse imo.  A good dot of grease and you should be fine.

You could always polish the shafts with emory cloth or a
scotchbrite pad after blasting. Might be a bit smoother.

Now that's thinkin'.  That's the best of both worlds.
