V1G = Gator Grain Roof

V08 - Paint, Trim, and Vinyl Roof Edit Waiver

What the V08 code means is that the chosen interior/exterior colour combination of the car with that particular style roof was not recommended.

If you need to know any other codes: http://www.mymopar.com/6971opcodes.htm

Got a picture of the fender tag? Would be cool to have a gander at.

So, LA often times put the same code twice on a fender tag?

What was the purpose of that?

Looks like Culvers is saying that the factory just decided to stamp some codes twice.
Even though there is no significance in the second stamp.

Maybe they had some dumb ars's on the line and the uppers were tired of them missing the gator grain tops and installing regular vinyl.
I could see a boss doing something like that.

Culvers already stated the reason. The LA plant always coded the top in two places on the tag.

Gatorgrain cars did not get black trim. Why would they? The tops were dyed brown. My guess is the trim was replaced at some time.

V08 doesn't seem to be needed on this car as it was a recommended color combination. But I've seen quite a few cars with this code for no apparent reason.

Yep. My car is an LA car and has the roof code on it twice. It's just the way LA did it at the time.

Regarding the V08 on this particular car, one other V08 tag I've seen was also a FY1 Car, with Gator Grain top, and HX59 Black & Orange cloth insert seats - hence the reason for V08. Quite a unique combo.

Here's the tag (from this thread a few years back):

V08

Delete Vinyl Roof

The code in the program/source you used is wrong.

Delete vinyl roof is incorrect. It should read Paint, Trim, and Vinyl Roof Edit Waiver.
