I don't know what shape the car was in when he was offered 80. I don't know how long it's been sitting there either, but when I go out to check on the Honda's progress I'll see if the body guy has heard a price yet.

I can understand a sentimental attachment to the car if he has one.  It would be a no brainer if it was a car you picked up a couple of years ago with the intent to fix it up.  If it was a car like mine where it was my high school car, my first car, and it has been a touch stone in my life for a very long time.  Heck, three wifes have gone and I still have my first car.  My car is priceless to me.  I am sure that everyone has a dollar figure but my selling price is far beyond what it could ever be worth to anyone else.

I am not saying that this Challenger in the grass is that way, but I can see how $80,000 may not be enough.

Peace

Those pics are sad and amazing at the same time. Sad because that grass will kill that car with rust, and amazing, because it looks like something that should be titled "Challenger In The Mist" or something.Looks mean. Like if you were to turn your back on you it would POUNCE! lol

We took our daughters car out to get some body work and fresh paint put on it and got an update on the Challenger. The Hemi is finished so the car is going to get touched up in the near future and the Hemi dropped in. Apparently what happened to the car was the owners kid got to take it to school. He wanted to show off so he did a burnout but didn't shift gears and snapped the crank. It's taken them this long to find a replacement so the car ended up sitting. The body guy is re-skinning a Camaro, and once it's out of there then the Challenger is going to get all pretty again.

It had a manual valve body and he was more interested in getting the girl than shifting

Picked up our daughters Tiburon from the shop today and the Challenger is out of the grass now. It's getting a new cowl, along with a few other bits and pieces here and there such as carpet and some interior bits. I had a few ads from Roseville in my truck so I gave him one and he asked me to order the parts for him through them since I've bought quite a bit from them already and he doesn't speak much English.
