I can understand a sentimental attachment to the car if he has one. It would be a no brainer if it was a car you picked up a couple of years ago with the intent to fix it up. If it was a car like mine where it was my high school car, my first car, and it has been a touch stone in my life for a very long time. Heck, three wifes have gone and I still have my first car. My car is priceless to me. I am sure that everyone has a dollar figure but my selling price is far beyond what it could ever be worth to anyone else.
I am not saying that this Challenger in the grass is that way, but I can see how $80,000 may not be enough.
