Welcome!

Real nice history on your Challenger!  Great to hear it and how it landed in your lap!

Have you found a build sheet for it?  Looks under the seats/seatbacks (front/rear), under the rug, taped to glovebox insert...

If you have a pic of the fender tag we can decode most of it for you!

As far as the hood goes, if the '74s were like the 72's, you could special order a performance V8 (360 in your case) with a base Challenger.  It would include the Rallye hood, dual exhaust and chrome exhaust tips.  Your car probably lacks the A57 code for the Rallye option as you do not have the Rallye gauge cluster.  The Rallye option would also include the Rallye suspension, other visual ques also like a flat black grill.

The shifter is interesting as Brad pointed out it's a 70 knob.  Also, it doesn't say "Slap Stik" belo the "1" as the later cars do so I wonder if the shfter is not original, as evidenced by the missing shifter/cosole cover.

Nice it has rear defrost!  Does it have factory body side moulding? :clueless:

Nice car!  Keep the dream alive!   Feel free to ask questions!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I think some of the `74`s came with the ball shifter-using up parts at the factory or something.

The 74 Rallye Challengers with 727's came with the ball shifter (not certain if this was true of the non rallye auto cars) as I believe the auto T handle shifter just had too many complaints over cracking and as noted, Chrysler probably had a stock pile of the better built ball shifters to use up before discontinuing the line.

The ball shift knob also re-appeared in 75 B-bodies.  And even though they didn't have slap-stik marked on them, they had them around (At least one 75 Road Runner was so equipped)

I just bought and stripped down a clean 360 and this project is swinging into full gear

The challenger has been sitting for a few years with no engine. Bumping because I don't want to make a new intro post.................
