I'm guessing it may be too late to book a room? At least close to the grounds?

I just found out yesterday that I got July 4th to July 8th off from work!!  :jumping:  !!, so Carlisle popped into my head IMMEDIATELY.

I'm not 100% yet, just want to know from all of you who have been there many times, if I should just look for a little motel a ways away?

I'd be leaving from Worcester, MA so maybe can meet up with a few of you New England guys on the way down if I go?

Yeah I haven't heard of anyone having a problem booking at our block of rooms, so there might still be some available.

Come to think of it, did I book one of our rooms....?!

Thanks guys......

I just called the Radison..........they are all booked up  :bricks1: :pullinghair:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated from here on in.

At this point I'd sleep under a highway overpass.
I really don't care about luxury

Including our block?  We have a block of rooms reserved.  It's under the name "Cuda Challenger dot com."

I mean it might be booked up as well.  They haven't called to tell me.  And as a previous resident of that area, the only thing I can suggest is sitting down with google maps and a phone and making some calls.  Hotels in that area have all of the car show weekends highlighted on their calendar - Carlisle is that big.  Even hotels 30-45 minutes away, too.  When I was trying to book a room around February of this year, a lot of them were already booked up for the Chrysler weekend.

You'll FIND a room, I'm sure of it.  How much you'll spend, well, that's gonna be up for grabs.  :)

If you need any info (directions, recommendations, etc) shoot me a PM.  I used to live in Mechanicsburg for a few years.  These folks here used to call me "twenty minutes."  :)

 Jeff,
I did mention cuda-challenger when I was on the phone. Don't know if it got past her, or not.
She was very pleasant and polite and apologized for the lack of vacancy.
You'll probably have a few pms from me soon looking for info.
Thanks for the offer.

Jeff,

I'm doing a quick look here. I have NO idea how nice this place is, but it is within shouting distance. Are you booking for Thursday night and checking out Sunday?

  http://www.secure-res.com/res/vn4/avail.aspx?hotelid=1585&checkindate=7/5/2012&nights=3&rooms=1&adults=1&children=0&childrenages=&trr=2FFFFFD8D20F43&culture=1&culturename=en-US&wtpid=dcslqg31g100008yf9rzifk6o_9m9r&scid=1&scdomainid=0

I stayed at this place in '05. It's close to the fairgrounds. It was a little run down back then, but maybe the revamped it since?

I should get credit here for posting incredibly long links at least.     :swaying:

 Mike,
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out also. Really appreciate it dude.
I will definitely look into both of those before I go any further.
I'm not sure, if I go whether I will leave on Thursday, or Friday Morning yet.
A little over a six hour drive for me.
I'll make a definite decision within the next day, or two, as time is not on my side right now.
Wish work would have told us a little earlier, so I could have planned this sh!t better, but I should just shut my mouth and be grateful, so I will do that.
Also, we just came back recently from Musclepalooza in Lebanon Valley New York. A great show, and drag racing, but it cost me a little.................a lot more than anticipated, as we ended up staying the whole Memorial day weekend.
Damn, money goes quick nowadays  :crying:

Is there actually drag racing at Carlisle, or just a huge car show??

They have drag racing off=site on Friday night. I have never been to it, but I hear get there early.

On Friday night I'll be buying pizza for all that wants to join us at the Radison parking lot for a party.   :jumping:

Thanks Wally and Mike  :2thumbs:

Yea, It looks like we'll leave MA Thursday morning. Seems to make more sense than leaving Friday.
Driving back to MA on Sunday.

We need two rooms for the four of us going, so a lot of places were as expected booked up.
I found a Motel 6 that's about 20 miles away.
I'm completely fine with that as a nice ride in the morning to wake up is always good anyways.
I'll probably book it when I get home from work today.
Still trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for this, or how I'm getting there, but I"m not sweating the minor details at this point  :roflsmiley:

Nothing like a cool-morning drive in an E-body.  :)  Just don't delay on booking that hotel - you never know how many other people are still looking for rooms.

Unfortunately I do not remember that feeling  :-\
It's been a LLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNGGGGGG time.........I took my Chally off the road in 1996 and she is still in a million pieces, so I will try to appreciate a cool morning drive as much as possible......even though it's not in an E- body  :walkaway:

Really looking forward to traveling all around to see the sites down there!

Does anyone know if there is a Pub 99 down there by any chance?

Not one I've ever seen/heard of.  But we haven't lived there in nearly 3 years now.
