Took my first Mountain Lion with a bow today

I ate of the lion last night.  First time.
We had round steaks with just a touch of salt and pepper.  A little oil.

She was wonderful.  Tasted like sweet pork.  Very juicy.
Red meat that turns white like pork.

I am very happy with the taste of the meat.  One of the best animals I have EVER eaten.  Very impressed!!

Me and the wife are headed up the mountain to see if I can find my lost arrows!!

Just out of interest, is cougar hunting restricted in any way? Like only hunt them during a certain period, or limited to a certain number a year? We only have Lynx in Switzerland, and you mustn't shoot them, and deer/capricorn/whatever hunting is restricted to a few weeks per year, depending on the animal.

Not speaking for Colorado, but in    you enter a lottery to get a tag. There is a certain time of year to hunt them and the number of tags allotted is controlled. You can take lynx and bobcat here as well, but you have to have a trappers license.

43 dollar tag.
must have mountain lion education certification
1 per year per person.
Something like 400 tags across Colorado per year.

Colorado has millions of dollars wrapped up into our big horn sheep programs.
Lions are the hardest on the sheep as they eat many lambs.

Bobcats are ok with small game license.
Lynx are a big no no here.  Colorado just reintroduced the species about 5 years ago.
They really want the lyns to make a come back here.
So do I .  Yummy!

So far as I know, here in NE it is legal to shoot them all day long if they are bothering you or harassing livestock. There was an article about it in the paper a week ago or so. The NE legislature is considering license and lottery as a way to gather another form of revenue. Our tax dollars at work. (ie. what was once free, must now have a fee tacked to it and be regulated and enforced) The cats didn't really start showing up until a coupe of years ago. Maybe you are scaring them all here 'Cuda Hunter? lol. OK, now for the next step. Punch through their rib cage and pull out their still beating heart? lol. Damn, dude. I bet you could!

Yes I watched all 4 of them! lol. What a blast from the past! lol. It was almost like Airplane or Police squad, with an asian bent, I remember bits and pieces from when I was younger. lol!

Just thought I would share with my friends here.
I spot and stalked her for about 3 miles.
Got to 17 yards and gave here a lung shot with my PSE Bow Madness.
She was on the ground.
I hunt with no dogs for tracking.
No gun on my side for protection. 
Just keep a healthy knife by my side.
So, she treed herself, I had to get up there and get her out.
When I grabbed ahold of her to drop her out of the tree she was still alive and growled at me! While I held her!
Needless to say, I flew like superman out of that tree!
Most exciting thing I have ever done.

 How can a billion chinamen be wrong!!! They roast tarantula's over a open fire in cambodia, and eat puppies in the koreas. YUM YUM!!
