Took my first Mountain Lion with a bow today

I carry a sidearm when I go out for milk....

After watching the news I feel that a trip to the local 7/11 is more dangerous than hunting for a mountain lion.  Mountain lions don't shoot at you!

The most painful part of this hunt is the taxidermist cost! 
Bites right into my cuda fund. 

Got my meat back from the taxidermist today.
Probably about 25 pounds of meat after I process her.
I can't wait to taste her!!

Division of wildlife told me today that less than 1% of mountain lions killed in this state are taken with a bow and without dogs. 
They were quite surprised at this means of take.

I'm curious to hear what you think of the taste. Never tried cat before. Moose, deer, bear, buffalo, elk, birds, fish, but no cat.

First off, I will eat anything that I kill.
I am from Louisiana and down there in the back woods they teach ya to eat anything and everything.
Historical mountain man accounts from the rockies have shown that the MM actually preffered Lion over any other meat.

Secondly, I carry a big knife.
With a gun, my smell is far more detectable. 
Without a gun, I have to play my cards much more smart.

Besides, I am an adrenaline junkie. 
I feel a gun takes away some of that adrenaline.

When I lived in Houston, one of my best buddies was from Louisiana. He truly was the definition of "crazy Cajun". One day we were kinda late getting back to work after lunch due to traffic, so he wheels his '55-'56 Chevy pickup with a 454 on to the sidewalk and hauls butt. I kid you not, 50 some mph! People were scattering everywhere. I thought for sure we were going to jail that day! We made it back to work on time, lol. Talk about a rush!

I gotta get down to CO and go hunting with you! Always up for something that gets the adrenaline going. Lately it was Cedar Point and coasters but you go to another level.
