What's your (cars) name?
« on: February 08, 2012 - 05:42:30 AM »
Curious what , if any, name you have given your car and why?
{oo/-------\oo} In '69 I was twenty-one and I called the road my own. I don't know when that road turned into the road I'm on. Jackson Browne

My Challenger has had several. When I was in High School she was the Millenium Falcon, because I used to outrun the big Imperial (police) cruisers. I call her Valkyrie, one of the angels of Norse mythology, who search the battlefields for the bravest of the dead and take them to Valhalla. Most people who hear that and don't know what a Valkyrie is call her Valerie, and I just go with it.   When all is said and done she has a secret name that only I know.

My Cuda's name is Cristina, same as my step daughter because they both always need more money. The Challenger hasn't been named yet.

My son named the Challenger Snot rod after the Disney movie cars. I thought it was appropriate because is is snot green and the paint job is "snotty" as well Someday it will get painted. I had a novelty tag made up for it.

I usually don't name my cars.  I used to call the Challenger "the old car".

The current name, given by the kids,  is affectionately called "Super Blue" because of the name of the factory color blue.

Because of this, the car has more personality in my eyes now knowing that the kids really like the car and it's like one of the family.

I have never called my car anything but "The Beast".  I feel like that is more of a title than a name. I need to come up with a name for it. Suggestions???    :rebel:   :rebel:

The previous owner, named my current ride, Cleopatra, we call her Cleo.  I still get emails from the previous owner asking how Cleo is doing, and I keep her update on the progress.

ARGH!!   :faint:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skunk_Works

"Have Blue" was the code name for the F117 when in development

If anyone gets a chance, read the book "Skunk Works" by Ben Rich, it will make you cry.
You don't need to be a engineer, scientist, pilot, or military to 'get' what this book is trying to teach.

Some good ones,  like the millennium falcon story best :)

I call the cuda "cooter",  the red 76 Celica "Red", the 73 Celica "Freebie" ( cuz it was free ), the 2000 Celica "the trouble maker" cuz I get revved on by all the ricers and got the majority of my tickets with it and lastly my Tacoma just gets called the truck payment.  ;)
