Skunk Works Challenger? Someone asked so I will try to give a short answer to a longer story. My former boss was a cerebral, well read historian with a photographic memory. He could read a book and practically recite it back to you. He could tell you who, as an example, teams played in the 1948 world series, the starting pitchers, all the base positions, the final score, get the picture? Well, he couldn't put gas in a lawn mower without screwing it up. He was in awe that I could restore cars, repair about anything etc. After visiting my shop and just having read the book about Kelly Johnson and the Lockheed "Skunk Works" he started calling my shop The Skunk Works. So, when I signed onto this website and was in the middle of restoring my Challenger I thought a good handle would be "Skunkworks". I combined the title into one word just to simplify. Actually I call my car "The Challenger". PK
