You hear that humming? That's old Walter P in his grave when he saw what his beloved company had ended up producing.  :eek4:

Are they going to add a supercharger or turbo to it eventually.  210hp is nice but it needs to live up to its looks.  It looks fast but with the hood scoop and rear difusser you would want more than 210hp under the hood to match the looks.  :2cents:

It is not bad looking but I have a vendetta against 4-doors unless they are crew cab trucks, cop cars, or humvee's. Toyota still sells 2 door cars. :2cents:

Looks fine to me.  It's a mainstream 4 door small car, pretty much like the original, which could also be had with 4 doors.  Have we forgotten how god awful the early Darts looked?  I wouldn't touch one of them with a 20 foot pole, but they were beautiful to others.  The Dart was the subject of ridicule for many years by many.  How fondly would they be looked on today if it wasn't for the HEMI and GTS models?

Honestly I think he would be proud of the work coming out of Chrysler now and how quickly they have turned around from the Daimler days. The quality of the vehicles has increased tremendously, the vehicles are winning awards left and right, and the company has gained the most market share in the last year over all other manufacturers. Not every car that has a heritage badge on it can have retro styling, plus the market for 4 doors is a lot larger than it is for 2 doors. Could Dodge have called this car the Neon, absolutely, but I think it will be more successful as a Dart then a Neon. I just can't wait to see an SRT version of this car.

:iagree:  Even though there were originally far more Dart four-doors, I think Neon or some other name would have been more appropriate to the type of car this is.  Maybe have saved the Dart name for a new 2-door car, a replacement for the Avenger.  I don't think it's bad looking - the part I can't get past (at least in photos) is the size of the wheels.  But having been fooled by photos before, I'll withhold final judgement until I see one in person.  :2cents:

Its a cool looking lil car but they shouldn't have called it a Dart, it doesn't resemble a Dart at all...  The Challenger fits the bill, the Charger is another example of not looking like the original besides the update tail lights where you can see they tried to mimic it.  Def disappointing :(

Slightly OT: I like the Cuda grille, hood and stripe package they put on the Challengers!  Ive been considering picking up the 392 Hemi SRT8 Challenger and doing that to it.  This way I have the old and the new :)

Yeah you're right. There isn't any resemblance.

Good gawd!  You could put the '13 Dart in that trunk.

Chrysler already has one pure retro model, so why should they do more.  I think that's even running it's course.  I believe I read a while back that Ford is moving on from the retro look of the Mustang with the next major overhaul.  That could also be why the Challenger might be axed in the next year or two.  It was only designed for a 5 year run as it is.

Yep, just poinitng out that the Dart has evolved many times over the decades. People seem stuck on one idea of what it was.  I guess you could actually say the same thing of the Challenger (but most people try to forget the imported version.)
