Brewers Or Passion? who has a Rep on here?
« on: February 13, 2012 - 06:19:46 PM »
I have been looking @ both companies as I am starting on rebuilding my 73 4spd tranny.

I'm just curious which company people have better experiences from..as in customer service, prices, Reps that are a part of C-C.com

..I am Kelowna BC Canada & can't afford a lot of freight bills!

I want to stick with one or the other & one order if possible!

Thanks in advance to anyone with input

one thing is do both ship to canada or not? if not you may be stuck with only one option anyway. I have delt with Wayne Brewer for years, good guy and knows his stuff. never bought stuff from passons.

I bought a rebuild kit from Jaimie and had no problems.  :2cents:  Both have a pretty good rep I believe.

I have dealt with both a lot , both are excellent companies to deal with , I have never had a problem with delivery time or getting parts from either . Passon does offer some more innovative stuff , like the OD 4spd & a new bolt in 5 spd he is working on building .

You can get a rebuild / brg & syncro kit for about $175 out of Western Powertrain in Edmonton , he will ship it to you on the bus .
clutch prices lok typical for the B&B long type , I usually paid about $500 for disc & PP & tax using a premium disc .
Get the Poly Energy suspension trans mount , Lordco can get that for you for $25

i heard that the poly tranny mount was "too stiff" causing bad vibrations.. so it was suggested to stick with rubber..

your thoughts?    I already have the full Energy Suspension Poly E-body Kit.. I snagged that for $120 bucks! I watched it drop from $380 @ one point

Couple of things- Do you mind me asking WHERE you snagged that great price on the poly kit? And, can you post some photos of your car with the 18's on it? I was thinking of going with 17's and am trying to envision how my 74 might look with them on. Thx. Ian

Bought stuff off Brewers before & they were great.  :2thumbs: Got my 4speed (23 spline)rebuilt in vancouver when I had out of car & took it to a local guy we deal with through work. $1400 later. Main shaft was bent out of spec & that cost 200.00 to replace. But I still think I got screwed. So shop around.

jimynick ,

you asked about WHERE i got my Energy Suspension full kit from..  I bought it through Lordco Auto Parts.. We buy quite a lot through my work, so i got to there yearly trade show in Vancouver.. I picked it up there last year...pretty good deal, it just doesnt have motor mounts or tranny mounts but damn near everything else!

If anyone is looking I can see what there going for this year..Trade show is coming up in April!!

as far as Rim pics....

hopefully that helps
