Hi,
The tear down is well under way.
The car had been hit hard on the drivers rear quarter and the body work there was a patch up.
It was hit hard enough that it buckled the outer floor extension to inner floor up about three inches.
The only proper way to repair that damage is to remove the quarter panel which is trash anyway and properly pull it out.
The other quarter although not in an accident is also trash.
I have had two of our best body shops here look at the car (the same guys that did the red 'Cuda you see in the pics on my gallery take a look how straight those panels are) and the extent of the body work required, it is extensive and will be expensive.
There is not one panel on the car that does not need major work, and I am not talking about just sanding it down.
The front fenders are really warpy, almost looks like they were heated up from sanding on a previous paint job or something.
The roof and side pillers have lots of pressed in dents that can not be "popped" back out, they require body tools.
It will be a $10,000.00 body shop bill and then a grille, $1400.00?
Engine is going to AMS in Edmonton, it will be ready in August, Tranny and Diff get a work over here.
Seats are at upholstery shop.
It will be rolling again in a year.
Dan
Those pics are a far cry from what you seen in person. 6700 isn't that bad considering you have all the parts with it. What sucs is that you thought the body was in decent shape. It looks as if you first need to sand her down to the bone & see what you've got.
