thanks for the pic!  It looks like it is a non A/C car, based on where the heater hoses are located.  The car looks pretty solid.  :2thumbs:

front fender turn signals
Has the hood tie down straps.
Must have been a rally hood if those are original.

Yeah, no a/c. When I got it it came with a flat hood, but I guess I have no idea if that's it originally came with.

Mildly germane to the topic, but Turbo224 stated that his car was "BP23". Now does that mean the non-r/t Challenger SEs had a JP23 vin prefix? I never thought about Non-R/T SEs, but that would make sense to differentiate them from the Highline and R/T models...  :clueless:

SE Challenger were either JS29 (R/T-SE) or JH29 (SE).  they did not get the Premium (P) letter in the VIN.  Maybe someone can explain what the corporate logic was, because I am not sure.   :clueless:

Okay, so I am not crazy then! I thought the Non-R/T SEs were JH, and not JP. Then again, some Deputys were JL21, and others weren't...

Wow, can't believe it's been a year since I last worked on this car! I finally started assembly of the 440 I've had on an engine stand for two years. Just finishing up paintin some odds and ends and she'll be together within the next week or so. Next week I'm going to drag the car over to my paint guy to get the engine compartment, new bulge hood, and new rear valance with exhaust cut outs painted while I finish assembling the motor. My goal is to be driving this thing by the end of the year. Pictures to come shortly.

I think it's time that I just start a build thread for this car.

funny the 1970 318 put out 230 HP, the exact same as a 1968 mustang shelby gt-350. I thought the GT-350 was "supposed" to be high performance, lol
