Rallye Dash - Clock Cable Lock Nut???
« on: February 18, 2012 - 07:37:38 AM »
Okay ..... here is the scoop.   I bought a repro cable from P.G. Classics.  Part arrives, but is missing the "nut" where it passes through the dash bezel.   So, I decide to go find a match .... first Home Depot, then a variety of Auto Parts suppliers, including Brafasco (the fastener specialist).   They suggested that the threads on it match up with a compression nut, but didn't have the flat/thin nut to match.  Then I go to an electronics supplier ..... only metric sizes now.......

No one has the flat nut with the correct thread ..... brass or otherwise.   So, I check with R/T Specialties .... they have had almost any fastener that I couldn't find.  The only have the chrome knob.

WHO CAN TELL ME  .... where to find this nut and is it a lock nut ...... is it supposed to be brass??

Thanks ..... CHAPS :1zhelp:

If Bullitts link is not it try contacting them at RT engineering or dash Worx they probably have them for their own restos, they have been very helpful as well as premiumdashdecals.com in Canada. Both have been great to work with so far.

Auto instruments or redline gauges should have them.

Yeah, it's crazy stupid prices. But at least they have it. Almost like buying cadilac stuff. Just for the name.

I ended up using a nut off the dimmer switch on my old standard dash.   $19 ..... rediculous.
