That second one to me looks way too much like a Camaro from the rear 3/4 view with the C pillar.

The 70's cuda l@@ks like a bulked up 60's Camaro.

I'm not a muscle car aficionado but the thing that made the 'cuda a dream car was because of her fat ass.  It's big, it's in your face, starting ahead of the rear wheels and on back and though it actually doesn't, it appears to flare from there out.  I'm not sure why it's appealing to me but it is.  Sure, it's a look that is not specific to the 'cuda--seems many muscle cars from the same era shared the same look.  However, it's one that I think the 'cuda body does best.  I think the 2008 design is masterfully done, and hints at the lineage through many things--the rear being one of the more prominent modernizations.  I like it.

Of course, I LOVED some of the '75 clays as well.

Actually, there's not a lot I dislike about an E-body 'cuda or anything that looks similar.  So I may be biased...

Actually, you take the rear end of the near prototype:

With this near-side body (look at those gills on the front!):

and I'm in love.   :droolingbounce:

I have to agree that the 2008 Cuda concept pictures look very similar to the SS Camaro, so Chrysler would have to go with a different look, hopefully.  What I totally don't understand is why kill of the Challenger for 2,3,4 years while we wait for either a new Challenger or Fiat/Cuda?  Are sales slumping that badly on this model?  I think this would be a mistake, keep what we have available until the replacement is ready! :2cents:

Opinions vary I feel the opposite way!! I think it is sexy sleek and inset. I like the way her rump rolls up from the rear wheels to the bumper and those sexy hips :picture:, the challenger more so.  :cooldancing: Hell people were whining about a lack of trunk space.  :crying: Luggage racks?? Funny, I grew up with these cars and I never thought Cudas looked anything like Camaros :-) kind of an old term, but both were considered pony cars (long hood / short trunk) so in that respect they are similar.  And saying they look like 69 Camaros isn't an insult to me, those are gorgeous cars even if they are GMs!
