This is a topic that comes up every now and then, and we talk about it...and then it dies. Well, let's actually do it. Before we finished the calendar voting this year I suggested using a similar format to pick a design for a new t-shirt, and this thread is starting that off.

I'd like to get the artistically inclined to create designs for new shirts. Go wild. I've suggested several, and created several for my own use, and I'll probably put a design in for this. Let's say the deadline is March 30. Send designs to me at

RdWaryer at aol dot com

Once the design deadline passes I'll put them up in a poll just like we do for the calendar, and once members choose a design they like I'll talk to some printers and get quotes for printing these off. If we can keep that schedule then we can have shirts ready by Carlisle.

What do you folks think? If you like the idea or hate it, sound off, and especially chime in if you want to submit a design.

I love the idea! Unfortunately, I won't be able to submit a design before the deadline (out to sea and all).

Here is the problem as I see it . Although I know it is easy to stand on the side and give my 2 cents that is the best I can offer not being very good at this stuff . Everyone would want a shirt if it had a car on it that looked close to theirs . My case a 70 yellow Challenger . But guys with different colors , years or makes wouldn't want that same shirt . Maybe a Scat Pak logo or Mass Transit Logo and let the buyer chose between the 2 .

I like the idea. You did say "club" shirt.

I would be proud to wear our Cuda-Challenger.com logo on a T-shirt. E body and MOPAR would need to be included on it also in my opinion. It isn't so much the idea of showing a picture of a cuda or challenger but our logo instead. And I love the mopar logo! That's my 2�.

Aaron and Dan -
When do you think you could reasonably get something in? Overall, I'm more about including people who want to participate than meeting an arbitrary deadline. If they can be done by Carlisle that's good, but I'd rather have a design people were excited about.

You might be right, but I will say this. The last shirt had stylized 70s, a Cuda and a Challenger, ad they seemed to do OK.

Brad -
Having names and screennames is an idea that I really like, ad I did a tentative design like that for myself a while a back. If I through in a design it'll definitely have that feature, but it may drive up costs, since each shirt would essentially be a one off.

I was thinking a area left blank so we could each add our own, like a name tag area? Iron on decal/letters from a craft store, or permanate marker or other idea's? Sure would be nice to have them done for Carlisle?
I had a post going on this before , maybe it will give you some idea's?

Having done this for other forums a few times, a little advice. Keep it simple you can't please everybody. As for SN's. The best and most cost effective option is heat transfers on the sleeve.

Two other possibilities:

1) We could do a collaborative design

2) All of the shirts I've made for myself have been printed on Avery do-it-yourself stock and ironed on. We could do that same thing with this. That having been said, my results with that stock has been fair to midling. My early results started peeling off almost immediately. the best one lasted a couple of years before it really started peeling badly. I think that a dry mount press might give better results tan ironing, but I don't have one.

I have a dry mount press - forgot all about using it for T-shirts. It has some limitations and is not like screen printing. I'll have to do some to see how they come out, been a long time.

Doesn't a site like zazzle allow you to make a design and mail it to people so they can customize it (i.e. add their name)?

You probably won't get the bulk pricing discount, but then people could put their own member names in.
