Magnum 500's or Rallye's?

From the research I've done, Rallye wheels are cheaper to begin with, but by the time you ad in the center cap and chrome rings, probably the same price if not higher.  SO, big question...should I go with Rallye wheels or Mag 500s. Would love to see plenty of pics with both options and maybe some Rallye wheels without the center caps and chrome rings as well

I say you buy a pair of each and run Magnum 500's on one side and rally wheels on the other.... :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley:

But seriously, here's photo's of mine with 500's on.  I think it would be interesting to have someone with both types of wheels show pictures their car in both configurations.

Both 500 and Rallye can look good and I like both.  Seems Rallye wheels are more popular / common, as it works well with just about any color and stripe combination.  The 500s work better with some color combinations that others.  For example, I like the rallyes much better on a black car than the 500s, but the 500s work well with a yellow, red or orange to contrast with the black.  If you do go for rallye wheels, to me they look unfinished without the trim ring and center caps.  I always associate a "missing" trim ring with the Duster Twister package and low performance while the Duster 340 and all the other performance models came with the trim rings on the rallye wheels...

wow, spamtank.... I thought your car was grey  :sly:   what color is that?  the picture in the sunlight is stunning  :drool:   sure is a beauty  :bigshades:

I like the rallye`s better for the fact they give more of a deep dish look.   however, I changed mine out for steelies/ dogdish....  all comes down to taste I guess

IMO, depends what look you want to give the car.  Rallye rims look sportier, Magnums look classier. 

What size rims you going with?  15" I assume?  Are you going to use wider rims out back or all 4 the same size?  :clueless: 

Rallye rims you'll often see in wider sizes out back so they look more aggressive but I've seen pics of wider Magnum 500s out back and they look really nice, agressive and classy at the same time.  They might have been on a '70 Charger, but that's a different car than a E-body so what they look like on these cars is up in the air.

Thanks Dutch.  :worshippy:  but your car wins the super stunning award.  I've always admired your car and it's color. 

My challenger is gold with a tint of green.  Does a nice job of tying in the green vinyl roof and green interior.  The guy who owned the car before me is a body shop owner, and took that artistic liberty, and I think it works well.

may be the pics ( most colors are terrible to catch on pics) but in the shade it looks a bit "unidentifyable", ( is that a word anyways...? lol) but I love the looks in sunlight. It`s beautiful  :2thumbs:   sweet calendar picture too  :grinyes:

If you go with repro 15" Magnum 500's, you won't need trim rings...they have a chrome lip.  You'll only have to get center caps.  Center caps for the 500 wheels are $135 from BE&A.  Rallye center caps are $210 and you'll have to buy trim rings. 

Now if you want to stay stock and go with 14" Road Wheels then you'll have to fork over BIG BUCK's for NOS trim rings.

That's the picture I was suggesting.  Problem is that the white with black vinyl car looks great with both style wheels. 

NCtrueconservative, Maybe you can photoshop both style wheels on to your car, or your color onto the white challenger.

Yeah I might have to try that...My car is red, with a flat black hood. And dang, both look so good on there! Had a guy tell me that you had to take REAL GOOD and I mean real good care of magnums or they rust easy...that true?

The 14" and 15" Magnums I think are different in that the 14" ones are I think a steel wheel and the 15" are chromed.

I have the factory style 14", redid them several years ago.  I don't drive the car but sitting in the driveway exposed to the weather they are not rusting.

I do not know about the 15" chromed Magnums.
