my 1967 Dodge Coronet
« on: February 25, 2012 - 01:33:22 AM »
I drove this car home today from Wisconsin to Illinois. I have always been a big Cuda/ Challenger fan. Lately, or as I have gotten older I have started to get more into 60's Mopars. This car drove great even though  it only has a 273. I am looking forward to finding an intake to put 4 bbl carb on it, and hopefully paint it original color Bright Blue Metallic. I didnt pay much at all for this car and am now excited to own this old mopar.

Here's my first car.  Had the old 318 in it.  It was a fun car when I was a kid.   Sometimes miss it.  Enjoy your car.

You can sneak in at least 8-9 people in the trunk when you go to the drive in movies! lol

Being the proud owner of a 67 GTX and a 70 Challenger R/T I can tell you I love them both but for different reasons. I usually take both out for joy rides every few months and driving them back to back shows just how much different they are. The 67 is like riding in a Cadalliac. It is so much smoother riding and quiter and just a pleasure to drive. The Challenger is just plain fun. I have owned several 67 B bodies and loved them all. Big trunks-lots of room in the interior--very comfortable to drive.

I have a question for J27. Since i dont know much about this car, I am wondering what color it is? Your car seems to be a shade of blue like the one i just purchased. I looked at colors from 1967, closest I can think of would be Bright Blue Mettalic? Does this sound right to you? No b5 blue in 1967? thanks Mel

Actually, now that I see the 2 next to each other, the Tommy Boy GTX is more teal than blue. Anyone know these color codes???

I think the tommy boy car is light turquoise. Pretty much the same color as 1969 Seafoam. It's the color that I want to paint my 67 Coronet. Mopar also made, in '67 a dark turquoise. I have the codes somewhere. I wouldn't know where to find them in my house, though, lol. You can google 67 or 69 paint colors for Chrysler and probably find it.
