on Question 1 -- was this the pic you saw?  yes, it is key to holding the console up (and sandwiching the headboard) -- it also has a stud you see for the console to be attached through the headboard.

mike, as far as the door switches, mine are seperate. the switch by the hinge does the dome light. A seperate switch by the striker does the console door ajar light.

thnaks for that info, are the switches like the hinge side switches or are they the plastic type?

Also, where are they located relative to the striker? Someone on Moparts said there is a factory dimple at the switch locations on non 'door adjar' cars but I cant see them on mine

It's metal like the other, but the nut around it is a little deeper/thicker in appearance.
If you get down eye level with the striker it's about 2'' to 2-1/4'' lower. there's one for both doors.

cool - I got my wiring today; I know there is a low-fuel relay for the low fuel indicator but isnt there a time delay relay for the "fasten seat belt" reminder?

It connects to the time delay wiring harness.

The time delay harness is used with the A01 light group option.

I dont have an A01 on my fender tags so I guess I am one of the "have-nots". That relay is pretty simple though. Maybe there are equivalents out there?

All models had the A01 package available as an option. connectors and wire lengths etc. were different.  Here is a '70 E body harness.

you are correct - got one of those for sale? Do you happen to have the schematic showing how that interfaces with the o/h console wiring? That would be an immense help. None of this stuff is in the 72 manual
