Data plate help

I bought a plymouth Barracuda awhile back and never really looked into the data plate much. Can anyone tell me what the important numbers are on the plate. I took it off the fender on the inside under the hood. It matches the vin on the dashboard as you look at it under the windshield from the outside so I know its the right one. Also I have not done any research on this car yet and don't really know much about the plymouth line. I bought it from a Pizza guy in AL and he got it from a guy from Norway going through flight school here in the US. He got tired of it and wanted a newer mustang so I bought it off him before he moved. It was running good when he parked it a long long time ago. Looks like it will be a cool Sunday driver when I get it cleaned up. Any help would be appreciated.

The plate you are referring to is known as a "Fender Tag" it has a lot of information on the options the car was manufactured with.  If you post it here I'm sure you can get some help translating it.

The numbers are in 5 rows and 3 OR 4 digits each

(1) N85, N97, R11, V6X, END
(2) N45, M21,M25, N31, M88, N4 (The N on the first digit in this line is hard to make out due to the hole in the data plate from the scew that held it to the fender. It may be an M or something else.
(3) EK2, AO4, A62, C55, G34, J25
(4) EK2, H6X9, OOU, LO5, 135338
(5) E87, D32, BS23, VOE, 127592
Some of the data is hard to make out due to the paint chipped out etc..
Also some may be zero's and not the letter O. It's hard to tell.

That is a fairly desirable engine code.  As a V code that would be a 440-6 pack car.  It's also a BS which makes it a true 'Cuda (as opposed to a Barracuda or Grand Coupe)

The bold codes I am not sure of.  I know the code you have is LOS is the date code where the first digit is the month (1-9,A,B,C,D) the second is the year (0=1970) and the last indicates the day.  My guess is 105

N4 is missing a digit.  I'm sure some of the better code readers will be along

Thanks for all the info. The last one on the second line may be N41. What is a Quarter panal tape treatment and Opt compress ratio? Is that a type of Quarter panel sealer and different compression ratio for the engine?

Check tag again, there is some issues, like N4* is N41, N31 is M31, N45 is not N42 in this case and not that place, 00U is 000, Date code L05 might be example 105 = Janyary 5th. 1970

Date code:  First month (Starting august 1969: 8,9,A,B,C,1,2,3......) and then day of month 01 to 31.

Quarter panel tape in this case : V6X = Black hockey stick stripe with 440 call outs

Edit: you meant M88 which is tail light surround moldings.

The column shifter was replaced by a B and M speed shift. The right column must still be in the car because I can see where the shifter pndr window has been painted over. Thanks for the decoder page. I looked up N41. Looks like duel exhaust without tips???

My first car was a 55 Crownvic I bought it for 300.00 bucks back in 77 from a alleyway in Jefferson City Mo. My Dad helped me fix it up and we painted it Pink and Black.  Sorry I have no pics of the Plymouth. It is actually covered up in my barn back in the US. I took the engine out and it is on a stand ready to take apart and repaint. I put some new covers on it and decided I might as well clean it up so it looks better in the engine bay. I am in Germany right now and I had the data plate in my lock box and just got curious about what the numbers were. I bought the car a long time ago but have been deployed or out of the country just about every year since I got it in AL. Looks like I will have my next project now that I am finally returning to the US for good. I'll see if I can dig up some pics for ya. I will need to scan them since they were all taken with traditional film cameras.

Yes, they did produce 440 6 packs.  No Hemi's or T/A's.

Yep, and although not a 440 6pack car mine has the GOE instead of the VOE the E is   L.A. California. Prolly don,t have abuild sheet.
