"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Lordy, there should be a 10-15% ticky box for us slow pokes! Let's see, she's been stripped, blasted, epoxied, cut up like a haggis on Robbie Burns Day, got the trunk floor in and the lft wheel houses and am fitting the rt whlhses so I can hang the 1/4's. Of course, still needing the frt floor, firewall, lft & rt hinge plrs, rt frt rail and the inr aprons to go. I must have been bitten by a mad monkey.  :screwy:

but in terms of everything I want to do...that'll probably be a decade.
don't kid yourself...

I voted 95%, but will probably never get beyond 95%. Always something, then you look through someone's restoration/mod thread and see something you really like. Then you think, geez, I gotta save up a grand to do that, then you see something else......  :money:

This time last year I had the mechanicals mostly done, meaning I could drive it around my shop.  But, I had some body work left to do, there was no interior, no glass and the body was still in primer.  Most of my bright work was at the plater.  I estimated at the time I still needed $15,000 in expenditures to complete the job.  All this after 4 years of work.  My target completion date was July 1st.  Everyone who saw it said, which year, you'll never make July 1st this year(2011).  I did make my target date and have not done anything more to the car since but drive it 1600 miles.  It is about as complete as they ever are and I don't have any work planned for this year.  I'm one of the fortunate few that, after a total dismantling, two years on the rotisserie, rebuilding the engine, transmission, differential, brakes, steering, all components and many wiring improvements and modifications the thing worked right the first time. I have had no issues with it.  I count my blessings every time I walk past it or especially when I drive it. I found a dry day on Tuesday of this week and drove it for the first time in almost two months.  Heaven can wait!!!!!

I selected just started.. only because there wasn't a .25%-.50% range offered. ALL new metal from radiator support to rear foot wells.. Bought the car in October of 2006, thought I'd be farther than this by now... but it's about the journey, right?  :dunno:

Depends how much time you have..... left.  At 51 years old I'm not wanting to be off the road for too long. If and when I go for perfection, it will be planned out such as your projects. Having Spare time for it (and $$) is the hurdle for most I would guess. :blah:

Until then she's getting driven. :grinyes:

:iagree:   Done? That's just a little white lie we tell our wives!
Mine seems to be more of an "evolution" than a restoration.
I think paint will be the last thing I do. I'm afraid if I make it too nice I'll be reluctant to drive it as much as I do now. It's a 20 footer now paint wise.

I went for 25%.  Stripped and media blasted, epoxy primed.  replaced front floor, currently working on firewall,  rear quarters to be done next month then off to paint.  I hope to get it on the road by late summer or fall but a realistic goal is rollout spring 2013.  At that point I will call the resto done but the tweaks and mods will never be finished!

I'm in the same boat.  i still have to hook up the a/c, and get a few interior items installed. now, i am thinking a may need to replace the center section (it was never rebuilt, just cleaned & re-installed) and now it is starting to sound like a Mack truck.  yep...that'd be about a grand.

After 7 years apart I voted 95% and that should be true by the end of today as the hood, header panel, and the rest of the front end are painted and will be installed by the end of today. Door panels and some other detail work will be needed in the interior but the car has to be ready for an indoor car show two weeks from now. Will the car ever be 100%, probably not as none of us are ever really done.
