I would think that if your carb was leaking a lot of fuel you would have had other symptoms along the way such as hard starts from flooding, lots of black smoke at startup, ....Just running rich or having more CFM than is appropriate doesn't put raw gas in the oil pan. I made an error once on a rebuilt carb and used old seats with new needles that could not seal & got so much fuel in the cylinders that the motor could not turn over, when I changed the oil there was no sign of a lot of gas in the oil. Of course I had caught this quickly.
