My last post was not directed at you specifically.  What's funny is that I did not even start this thread.  I started a thread like this one on a new Challenger site to see what they had to say about it.  I somehow got mixed up on what site I was on, so post anything you like.  Sorry.

.,

No big deal dude....

As my wife says, the same thing that happened to us happened to them.  They got wider, heavier, and a double chin.  :clueless:

My turn, open mouth insert foot, now that that is out of the way.

I would choose the original, IF it had ALL the modern conveniences of the new but we all know that isn't going to happen. They're a riot as long as you're going in a straight line and don't need to stop any time soon.  :working:

I have a lifetime warranty on my car that covers everything except the maintenance items. I can cruise on the freeway at 80mph and 1800 rpm getting 23.9 miles to a gallon with the air on. It is safer and built better than any '70. My car doesn't leak either way and it sure in the hell doesn't rattle. I get as much if not more attention in my 10 as I did in my '73 and 30 years ago I wouldn't have gotten a thumbs up from the kids at a bus stop because they had no idea what a cool car was.
I have been driving a new Challenger for 4 years now, as of tomorrow and wouldn't have it any other way. Of the three new "muscle cars" Dodge got it right BECAUSE it most closely resembles the original. Besides how many people ask you how you like your Charger?

But most of all, when I turn my car on, it returns the favor!  :woohoo:

Well said Rooztoo ! I would like a new one and have a 70-73 to keep in a large garage to take out occasionally. It is a thing of beauty to look at, ALL 60-70's muscle cars are. To sit in them and remember the good old days when these cars were new & we were in high school Or just getting out of school.

When I sold my 72, I figured my Challenger days were over, that I would never have another, physically I can no longer work on one. Then Chrysler announced they were remaking the Challenger and when I saw it, I was gone, hook, line and sinker. Funny part is that it's like the clock has been turned back, they're so much better than the originals and yet give you all the same feelings. I actually had a guy at the gas station look at my car and tell me "that's too cool for a girl" . . . . . . :dunno: Take one for a test drive, you'll be surprised.

Just saw this one. 4 minutes and 59 seconds later...

Both would be great. For me, if I got my 73 first, I most likely would not have gotten the 2012. They are not the same and the look of the first gen is just a timeless beauty that cannot be matched.

Old one for sure. My favorite part about having old iron is driving by kids. They don't even know what my car is but by the way they point and yell they know its something special.
Going to the Dodge dealership in my town gets me a crowd of salesmen every time.

I want a new one.
I've already got an old one.

But i guess if I had neither the question is already answered by which I went for first
