    I have both and tend to drive the old ones more often but nothing like the new one for a great drive. If you are going any distance (more than 100 miles), you get out of the old one feeling every one of your old years but the new one fresh as a daisy.

    Noisy and Drips Oil, etc. frequently and smells of burned fuel
    Breaks Down and Takes a lot of maintenance for the amount of driving
    Uses outrageous amounts of fuel

    Simple Maintenance
    Tuning on a Laptop

    i like my hennessey i had built as it is 1 of 1 car so mine it dont come more rare then that  :bigsmile: or maybe a nice 426 hemi car in white

    I have both and my 70 is mint but I would never give up my SRT.  It blows my TA away in every category (including looks with the Kenne Bell under the hood) and I take both of them to car shows.  I only keep my TA because I have owned it since 1981 and it is a rotisserie restoration that I did and I just dont have the heart to sell (plus my wife would never let me) but I hardly ever drive it.
    The new Challenger just plain rocks.  Sorry but sounds like I am one of the only ones that likes the new one better.

    I would own a New Challenger but I enjoy my 25th Anniv TA.
    Always wanted a 1970 Barracuda Convertible. In 2008 I bought my Gran Cpe vertible over a Nw Chall.

    Hands down new one! Love my 70 but would get so much more use out of a modern convertible :poopoke:
    Not saying I'd sell my R/T. Just saying I know which one would have all the miles added to it.

    Unless I missed something, it depends what you're doing with it.  As a daily driver, I would go new Challenger.  If you already have a daily driver and looking for a fun car when you get home from work or on the weekends, I would go old Challenger.

    Both cars have their charms but there's something about the nostalgia that comes back when you see an older Challenger. 

    A guy from the town just came to change my electric meter.  His 4 minute job turned in to 30 minutes when he saw my Challenger in the driveway and we started talking old cars.  A new Challenger while nice in it's own right, may not do that as easily. 

    A lot of times when I see an new Challenger and talk to the owner, 99% of the time it will lead to talk about if they had an old Challenger and that's where the conversation usually stays, with old cars.  :2cents:

    That is a drawback with having an original, restored T/A: too nice & rare to drive and hard to argue with your decision to keep it (I think) bone stock.  To me a significant part of the the fun with the old cars comes after adding headers & a nice street cam.  I suspect if you had the Hotchkis Challenger in your garage, you would be driving it a lot more than your stock T/A.

    I totally agree that the new Challenger just plain rocks.  My only disagreement with you is on looks & attention, where I believe the old Challenger is a clear winner and by a wide margin.  Here's how Autoblog described the reaction when testing the Hotchkis Challenger:

    "I performed my now usual pre-photo shoot routine of stopping at the gas station/car wash to buy some Gatoraid. As I roll up (still smiling) everyone is just staring at me. OK fine – the car, but still – they're really taking a gander. Now, I've rolled into this same gas station in everything from a Nissan GT-R to an Aston Martin DBS and the masses' reaction is typically, "Meh." Not with the E-max. After hearing half a dozen, 'Man, this thing is awesome!'"

    Thanks everyone, When I get ready to buy, money will not be an issue if things go as planned. I have my truck and the wife will be getting something new she wants and i will get what i want. A fully restored 70 challenger is what I have always wanted, ( had 2 chargers back in the 70s and if i didn't get a challenger i would get a nice 69  charger R/T. To bad the wife wouldn't decide on a new challenger for her then i would get the 70, however she wants a small SUV. I had a feeling the majority would go old original Challenger. thanks again!
