Hello from Dayton
« on: March 07, 2012 - 08:59:39 PM »
I've been checking the site out for the last few months picking up some great tips.  So far, I can tell that this community is amazingly different than some of the other forums I have been on.  The scarcity of these vehicles makes it evident how important these cars are to each of us.  I have owned a few modern Mopars (Challengers, Charger, Magnum), but this is my first classic (1973 Challenger, triple black) and I have been chomping at the bit over the last few months deciding what and when to make changes to it.  I'm gonna start simple and work my way up I think.  That said, one of the first modifications I have decided on is replacing the steering wheel.  I am changing out the faux wood wheel with one of the two spoke wheels from the (I think) 1973 Cudas/Challengers.  The problem I am running into, is finding a horn cap/button that fits properly.  Does anyone know the correct size or part number for a replacement button/cap for the new steering wheel that I have?  It is a two spoke wheel with a black rubber surround and metal spokes with three holes along the metal.  Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.  Great to be here and I look forward to getting more involved with the forum as things progress.  Cheers.

Alex

Hi Alex!  Welcome!

You could check out Classic Industries.  I saw this the other day, not sure if it fits the 2 spoke steering wheel as it mentions it's for the Tuff Wheel (3 spoke) steering wheel but it looks awful close.  Give them a call and see if it'll work.
