We had Mopars in our family (When I was born I was brought home in a '68 Plymouth Suburban Wagon.) but as far as my own car it was a handme down from my Dad, a 1982 Chyrsler 5th Ave. It was a comfy car with big leather seats. Has a 318 in it with the Lean Burn deal attached to the side of the air filter housing.
Driving through Vermont going to Canada I literally had the pedal floored and a little VW Rabbit buzzed by me. That was bad. I think the top speed stock on that car was a wee over 100mph, if even that.
In the summer I changed over to a Weiand 2p intake, Holley 600cfm carb, modified side exhaust, and added extra leafs to the leaf springs. Made the top end much better. With highway gears I could do 55mph in 1st gear and was cruising at 105mph (So said the guy in the Trans Am I was tailing) and still had more pedal to go. Sounded rauchy as it had no mufflers but not obnoxious.
