another great find!
« on: March 12, 2012 - 01:13:29 AM »
in nov 2009 i recovered my challenger after it had been stolen 27 years..  the origional fender tag was changed out with a repop tag that was not like the car was when new. i knew most all the options but was not 100% sure. well that all changed yesterday!! one of my grandfathers best freinds was the captain of the MYRTLE BEACH police dept. and about 10 am , my phone rings and he says you wont beleive this, but,... i have the original window sticker/order/option info for the challenger!! he always told a story about being the 2nd person to drive the car with 2-3 miles on it. turns out they were going to throw the sticker away!!! he said he picked it up and kept it ! ever since i recovered the car, he has searched for the place where he put it [unknown to me]and he finally found it ....NOW I CAN FULLY '' TRULY ''   DOCUMENT THE CAR!!  THANKS TO YOU  '' JOHN HENRY BROWN ''  !!!

That's cool and great that you know the origin of this.

Have a question though.  If someone found a window sticker, there doesn't appear to be a VIN number on this.  How would one know what car it went to if you didn't know the source like in your case?

Re-read the sticker... I believe there's a 13 digit vin number at the top

Pic not too clear on my computer.  I see it now with the dashes.  Knew it had to be there somewhere.  Thanks!

That's great Buddy!  After seing the posts about the VIN, I noticed that the window sheet says "Color Code: Y81X"  :dunno:  What color is/was your car?  You gotta be thrilled to have your car back!

Wow, real happy for you!!!  :2thumbs:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
