Some folks do run 10" on back, most with at least 4.5" backspacing and 1" relocated springs using the Dr. Diff kit.  I ran 10" rims on my Roadrunner, but the airshocks kept the tire sidewall clear of the fender lip or it would rub.  Tire height is also going to matter, if the tire diameter is small enough you might clear the fender, but not sure how that would look.

Shades of the 70's, man. Sure it can be done, but you have to give up suspension travel to accomplish it in this manner. That means the shock crossmember takes a beating to keep the tires out of the fender lip. The method posted by road runner is the better approach of avoiding interference.

i saw a camero today with a 275 rear wheel, not sure how wide the rim was but what would be a good width for a rim to run that size of a tire?

I think the majority of the guys running a 275 rear tire are using 15x8 with the stock suspension on the E-bodies.

I'm running 275/60x15 BFG TA's on 15x8 rallyes on the back of my Barracuda and they look & fit great with no airshocks.  Honestly, with that size tire the 8" rim is going to look a lot better than with a 10" rim.  I'd go to a wider profile 55 or lower series of tire to go with a 10" wide rim because the 275/60's are already plenty tall for the car. I may go back to 10" rims on the back of the Roadrunner but that's because I'm looking at a 600+ HP stroker motor & figure I need the extra tire patch for traction.
