Yeah, that Hemi GTX was cool.  It's owned by a guy I met several years ago, has a matching '68 Hemi Charger, black with red stripes.  If you went to last years WOW he had it there.  Sold his '70 Hemi Cuda to get the '68 Hemi Charger.  You notice a theme?

I'll be back there tomorro at 7pm when the show closes and they let all these beasts out on the street!  I'll be there with PADAWAN from this site!  It's cool to see the cars in motion, hearing them run!

Sounds like he's stuck in the 60's.  This was my first time at WOW.  I'll go again next year if some one reminds me when it is.

That would be awesome.  Last year, I went to the Crusin' Downtown here in Manchester.  And that was just about the coolest thing, toward the end of the day when the cars started firing up to head home.  I didn't stick around for the actual cruise, but I will this year.  Had to be hundreds of cars driving the loop just like the old days.

I went to the Factory Five Racing open house a few times down in Wareham, MA and I stood at the end of the driveway where the Cobras were taking off, it was really cool to hear and see them in action.

While I do not remember that exact car my walls were covered with Funny car posters , I had numerous models & I had a lot of the posters , I always remember  the Pisano cars for being awesome looking & no sponsorhips , well built & fast . the late 60s & early 70s were the days to grow up around drag racing !!

Guy's name is Archie, from NH as you are, has the Hemi GTX, Hemi '68 Charger, 2 Shelby Mustangs and a Nova SS, 5 cars in total.  When I met him the first time at a car show on City Hall palza in Boston years ago he had side by side his Hemi orange '70 Hemi Cuda and his black '67 Shelby Mustang GT-350.  He had all the factory correct tags and all, even the one dangling on the directional showing how to start the car.

The Bayside was bigger but had issues.  During the last show there 2 years ago many cars had to have buckets on the roof of their car to collect rain water.  The new place is definately smaller, looks nicer though.  Definately not as much room for vendors although there are more there this year than last year.  NO MODEL CAR CONTEST...    The guys at that model car contest were really nice.  I did it for the last 2 years they had it.  I think U-Mass Boston bought Bayside and is going to put buildings/dorms there.

There's only one Men's room in this place!!!!    Now I know how women feel waiting in a line to go potty!

Last year they rolled a funny car down the sidewalk of Seaport Blvd to get to the trailers down the street!  Wicked funny to see.

I was at a World of Wheels show in DC decades ago. I was there near the end of the show when everybody was tearing down and packing up, and I was looking at a 70 Challenger, Hemi, up on a tilted rotating table with mirrors so you could see that the entire suspension had been chromed. It was one of those LSD-inspired paint jobs that I don't care for but but it was well executed. As I watched they lowered it down, moved in a ramp and pushed it off the table, then started winching it up on a trailer. The owner was watching me; I suspect he was wondering if he could sell me that car (this was when I was very young and didn't get that some people love the idea of cars, and other people love cars). We had a conversation that went like this.

Him: Nice car isn't it?
Me: It's beautiful.
Him: It's fast too.
Me: Bet mine's faster.
Him: What do you have.
Me: 73 with a 318.
Him: There's no way it's faster than mine.
Me: All other factors being equal I'd agree, but you never start yours, and when yours isn't running mine will tear it up.

Don't laugh, that was back in the day when I was a guitar tech for metal bands. One of my bands was the opening act for Spinal Tap at The Channel, Spinal Tap used all our gear except for guitars. We went to some office supply store and got those stick on numbers so the wall of Marshalls all went to "11". They had their own techs, but I still babysat since it was "my" gear. They go on stage and hear one of my heads sounding like its about to blow up, I run up on stage and its Christopher Guest jamming the guitar cable in and out of the head sending my tubes into meltdown mode. I said "what the f**k are you doing!" He said "its OK, its all part of the act"  I said "act with your own f*****g heads!!!"   I was pissed.
